Proportion>London, London

With retail trends constantly evolving and the prevailing fashion taste ever changing, it can be a daunting task for today’s Visual Designer to keep abreast of the latest looks and respond with the most appropriate mannequin styles.  Proportion>london make this challenge a thing of the past, with their newly launched collection SERIES: envisaged to be the VM mannequin solution of the future.
SERIES is a benchmark concept, a “workhorse” collection created in a collaborative process between proportion’s sales and design team. Working in unison, they identified a checklist of fundamental VM requirements: a core range of must-have poses, choice of a number of definitive head styles, consummate body shape that carries clothing well and the ability to customise options easily for today’s progressive fashion brands. Sculpted in a carefully honed style, the aesthetic continues seamlessly through both male and female collections.

The female SERIES collection will be on show at the proportion>london three open days starting 17th April.  Give these guys a call or check them out online at www.proportionlondon.com

Have you been to see the new delicious collection from Proportion>London yet?
Have you ever visited somewhere and heard a piece of music that reminded you of a certain time?
Have you smelled a perfume recently that reminded you of someone you enjoyed being with?
Have you been to an exhibition recently that made you feel absolutely in awe?
We all know the experience of being somewhere completely unrelated and feeling that connection, right?  Having seen the new collection from Proportion>London we are absolutely in awe.  What these guys are thinking, where they are going and more importantly what they are doing is mind blowing to say the least.  Under the creative direction of the ever super creative Tanya Reynolds, their latest direction really is awe inspiring.  We were absolutely salivating over this collection and didn't want to leave the space today.  The combination of Tanya Reynolds (and the passion we would like to bottle please?) plus the collection she and her team are presenting is both avant garde and yet perfectly placed on the high street.  As ever, the only limitation is your imagination and if we were you, we would ask if we could move into this space and live there permanently.   So........ hitch up the ponies and head to Farringdon.  We guarantee you wont want to leave either.

If you haven't seen the new collection of male figures from Proportion>London, then here's a little preview for you.  "Comprising 12 indispensable fashion poses, including sitters and kneeling positions, METROpolitan offers both a smooth abstract head and a trend led sculpt hair head and is available in an infinite choice of colours and finishes, including powder-matt cellulose skin shades with illustrative style make-up and wigs, durable two-pack paints and a full spectrum of lustrous metallic colours."
It is always so difficult to find male mannequins which are not either feminine or neanderthal looking but Proportion>London under the Creative Directorship of the Uber cool fashionista Tanya Reynolds always gets it so right.  The guys here "measure up with a slim 36"(90cm) chest, 28"(71cm) waist and 19”(48cm) top of thigh, [so] these guys can wear the skinniest of trouser cuts with ease and look equally cool in sharp, slim-tailored suiting or layered up, off-duty casual clothing".  Proportion>London are particularly sharp when it comes to identifying the latest fashion trends and creating an amazing collection, perfect for all of you out there whether you are a department store, multiple of independent.  With  the METROpolitan collection being launched by Proportion>London there's no reason why your stores cant look even better and if you already have any of the Fluid collection launched earlier this year, then this guy is the perfect compliment.  Check out their site at www.proportionlondon.com

Proportion>London

Were you at the Proportion>London party yesterday evening? No? Then where were you? You would have rubbed shoulders with the likes of WGSN, Fortnum & Mason, M&S, Selfridges....the list goes on. Name after name attended yesterday evening. The launch event at Proportion>London was absolutely incredible. I have been so excited about this event for months and was fortunately given a preview of the launch a few weeks ago as my regular readers know and a taster of what was being presented. Tanya Reynolds the Creative Director (seen below left) looked, as ever, effortlessly elegant (Now, I will let you in on a secret here - but you mustn't tell anyone that you read it here. The whole UK industry loves Tanya's effortlessly elegant style. In fact if you ever mention her name, the first thing anyone says is...........yessssss..............style. Between you and me, I know this woman has worked relentlessly to achieve this perfection and there are huge lessons here for anyone who wishes to enter this industry, in as much as this is what it takes - hard work). Anyway, if you missed the evening, do contact one of Tanya's wonderful team to view their new collection. I have never met such a sophisticated and cordial bunch of people who are not only talented but so incredibly beautiful too - what more do you want hey?

London Retail VM and Display Show Exhibitors 2010, Proportion>London Creative Director Tanya Reynolds

Tanya Reynolds is the Creative Director at Proportion>London and has been part of the Retail VM and Display Industry for a whopping 30 years. If there is one person who has a vast knowledge and a passion for this industry it certainly is Tanya who also clearly has her finger on the pulse of whats 'in' right now and definately whatever is 'next'. Tanya's collections are absolutely Fashion led and I certainly am excited about the new collection being launched next week. Part of the Proportion>London portfolio are bust forms as well as the delicious Mannequins pictured below. Bust forms are what this company have been well known for for decades. One only has to wander along the high street to see that just about every retailer has something from their collections in all sorts of diverse finishes - the only limitation is our own imagination with regard to what this company can do. Naturally curious and willing to never close down opportunities to try new things Tanya and Proportion>London are the company to have on speed dial and at the top of your address book and must be your first stop at the Retail VM and Display show.

Proportion London Fluid Collection Launch 2010

I have been absolutely itching to view the fabulous new collection from Proportion London and I have managed to get a sneak preview to share with you well in advance of its launch in early March - how cool is that hey? The collection, introduced as Fluid is brought to life by the amazing sculptor Rob Paterson and presented in the most delicious sorbet and sherbet tones. I have been drooling over the tiny snippets that they have been teasing me with for the past few weeks on Proportion London's facebook site, which I highly recommend you join if you have a facebook account, (not only because they go to the coolest places, but also because they have an amazing following too, with everyone who is anyone in this industry linked into their site). Anyway, as my regular readers will know, I do have have a particular interest in Mannequins and figures per se, and this really is a must have collection for any commercial environment out there whether you are an independent, multiple, department store or global retailer. These really are incredibly beautiful pieces that will work perfectly when showcasing the latest Fashion. In addition to this, you will never worry again about maintenance, seasons changing, new wigs and make-up, as they will take care of that for you too all under the scrutiny of the incredibly cutting edge Creative Director Tanya Reynolds and her team - and they are the nicest people too. So, either make yourself an appointment to see the new collection (from early March) at their Clerkenwell studios here in London or visit them on-line at http://www.proportionlondon.com/. What more could we possibly want?
