Zara, London


We are seeing a lot of these kinds of stacked rectangular structures around town right now from luxury to mid-range brands.  This is not the most inspiring scheme ever; perhaps more like the skeleton of what couldn't be spent?  It seems that everyone is looking for longevity than a quick turnaround which from a sustainability perspective is very sensible although there are so few brands who value sustainable solutions (until it suits them) so we are left with an ever decreasing visually stimulating high street.  Sigh.

Clarks, London


Wow, who could have imagined that this brand would rocket from the land of the fuddy-duddy to become such a major highlight on the high street? What is also remarkable is the energy behind this brand.  So much of the high street looks so damned bloody awful right now and we are really struggling to find those gems out there to show you.  We will show you what is happening of course although sadly there is so little innovation it is an uphill struggle. What the hell is London doing we ask?  Thank goodness for brands like this.

Prada, London


We've been looking at this scheme for quite some time, or rather versions of it, and couldn't quite think of the narrative to contextualise what the brand have produced.  However, what did draw us in are the amazing products; just look at this mixture of colours and textures here.  We know that we always say this however this brand are geniuses with their use of colour and they are the kind of brand that really should be your 'go-to' if you are unsure of how to use if effectively yourself.

Joseph, London

Just by chance we visited the Victoria & Albert Museum to view the Balenciaga Exhibition and happened upon the plywood exhibition too just inside the main entrance.  Coincidently, Joseph had just installed yet another remarkable scheme at their store inspired by this (images from the Plywood Exhibition below).  How wonderful it is to find these things happening in tandem.  Another killer scheme produced in conjunction with those lovely guys at www.harlequin-design.com, clearly everyone here has their fingers firmly on the vibe of whatever is happening around them.

Harvey Nichols, London


When we visited this area of town it was with the intention of capturing this stores main windows although sadly we missed them and we're guessing that behind the graphics the team are busy installing the next scheme.  However, fortunately their side windows were still in place and naturally, as always, still look incredible.  Not many brands could get away with this type of installation as it really does take some skill, however as these guys are so talented it naturally looks quite amazing.  Clearly the notion of travel is the key with the use of the suitcases with wings in tandem with some amazing bird props and graphics.

Missoni, London


While this isn't the most exciting scheme from this brand, no wait, actually, this is one of the first schemes we have seen from this brand at this store, but anyway, what it has done is to kick start some ideas about the use of mirrors in store windows.  Beyond the usual uses, i.e. to make the space look bigger, we have also discovered that by capturing ourselves in the reflection we somehow become a part of the narrative within the window space.  Deep stuff this.  OK, there is more to it than that but we are still researching and collecting our thoughts so in the meantime here we have reflective surfaces within a window space.

Diesel, London


We can't help but love the irreverence of this brand and how they quietly poke away at some of the more, dare we say it, well known global denim brands.  It must have taken some work to make these cushions look so effortlessly placed and balanced so precariously are mannequins which would give any health and safety inspector palpitations.  And yet at their Knighstbridge store this brand flicks the 'V's so wonderfully and so seemingly effortlessly that we can't help but love it.

Louis Vuitton, London


If there is one brand we can rely on to deliver consistently (obviously product consistency is a given) it has to be this one.  They really must spend a significant amount of money on their Visual Merchandising as it is always superb; this one is quite a treat.  What is difficult to appreciate is that the rectangular forms in the background are actually filled with a fine coloured sand-like substance in a liquid and as the forms rotate they allow the sand to - very slowly - sink to the bottom.  All very exquisitely produced too.

Gucci Garden @Harrods, London


If you haven't yet seen the Gucci Garden at Harrods then you really are in for a treat.  Not only do the windows at this store look amazing (as well as the store around the corner on Sloane Street) but throughout this phenomenal department store too.  If you are fortunate enough, they may even let you into the Garden in the Penthouse (this is usually by appointment but we were fortunate to arrive at just the right moment to access the space).  The Penthouse is a treat and well worth it if you can get in; we've promised not to share any images of the interior so that we don't spoil the surprise for you, so get yourself down to Knightsbridge and enjoy this experience from these staggering brands.

No one can deny the enormous impact this designer has had on Fashion and he's still making such a massive contribution out there on the high street.  The windows of course are beautifully illuminated, everything is perfectly place and, just in case you forget who is behind all of this there is a cartoon of the man himself complete with signature sunglasses.

Cos, London


There's something quite interesting in the sculptural element of this scheme even in its simplicity.  We visited the Plywood exhibition last week at the fantastic Victoria and Albert Museum and therefore this captures the vibe so perfectly with everything else happening 'out there'.  Interestingly Joseph along the Brompton road have also implemented a plywood inspired scheme which we will try to share with you shortly.
