Zara, London

We still haven't quite worked out why all of the windows are Zara are completely different from each other?  Is this their new strategy? Or, perhaps anti-strategy?  We cant quite believe this brand is that radical.  While we ponder on this, here's their latest scheme at (we presume) is their flagship store here in the centre of it all.

Zara, London

What do you think of the latest installation from this brand?  The product looks great although for us the scheme appears to be telling us a variety of different stories and we're not quite sure what this is all about?  Perhaps it's just an abstract scheme and that there isn't any kind of narrative here?  The bottom image here is possibly the most experimental of this run of windows at their Knightsbridge store and our favourite one although without some level of consistency the others are quite a distraction.

Zara, London

We've often seen the use of columns in retail store windows over the years to this scheme is not really that exciting for us (this is not to say that it is terrible in any way, just not exciting).  If you scroll back to January 2019 or even May 2021 you can see brands such as Max Mara including these types of structures in their scheme and better still, have a look at Versace from October 2019 - bingo.

We've been trying to work this scheme out.  Perhaps we are reading a little too much into it, however on the one hand there is this curvy structure although it is punctuated by these illuminated and coloured screens in the middle.  There probably isn't a narrative here although if you do happen to know then maybe let us know too?

Zara, London

Wow, this brand can certainly turn their schemes around.  It wasnt so long ago we saw their party wear installation which we assumed was their seasonal offer but just look at this little beauty.  Shooting stars in Neon across their Oxford street store.  This scheme is so elegant although we are particularly in awe of their well oiled operation which has allowed them to do this.  Naturally, images of their full run will be on our Insta pages and as usual, the link is below.

We've seen some great schemes throughout 2021 here at this Zara store along Oxford and Bond street.  Naturally, as we are now in the party season, what else would you promote?  Well, those chic little Black dresses of course.  Great styling, affordable luxury and wonderful to see no Christmas trees as their go-to (although there is still time of course).

Zara, London

We captured this a few weeks ago when they also had what we think was possibly a Halloween element in the front windows.  We think anyway.  As always, super quality installations prevail at this brand with their current one nodding to film set-style references at least at their Bond street store.  We don't often see intersting narratives at these types of brands, i.e. global players so great know how valuable their visual merchandising is to them.

You may remember that recently we included this scheme, or rather the flagship version of it recently although it is really interesting to see how the smaller / less important perhaps / lower footfall or generally not a flagship store scheme looks like too.  This is simply a smaller version without the dot matrix included.

Zara, London

We happened upon this scheme the other night although the full run of windows had not been completed so we only have a snapshot for you.  Some really great schemes have come from this brand and their store on the corner of Regent and Bond streets and the current installation is no exception.  Currently featuring this magnificent New York fire escape prop is Zara right now.

Zara, London

This is a rather more refined and crisp scheme from this brand although still very cleverly thought through nonetheless.  They did miss an opportunity here though as they could have added a mirrored floor / walls and achieved a perpetual effect with the dot matrix lighting which has been added as a prop although quite honestly given the lack of schemes out there right now we are glad of anything even vaguely visual.  We've also produced a quick video too (below) so that you can see the effect they've achieved in their windows.

Zara, London

Wow this brand is looking very crisp and clean right now with their latest installation which incidentally has been produced to almost luxury level (the store itself isn't of course).  Pallets and scissor lifts in a chrome finish and stacked at a low level create the narrative around their product.  We cant recall seeing these mannequins anywhere before although its great see something fresh out there.  Given the amount of stores this brand has, just like most other retailers who are making such a massive effort to entice us in, the production of this was no doubt no easy task and it is very much appreciated.

Looking rather sculptural at the moment is this brand.  With a very crisp installation which we thought initially were references to Architecture although on reflection probably not although which artist is referenced here is not quite clear.  What is difficult to capture is of course the moving digital back drop in their main window space which always looks rather pixelated in our images although is actually very clear in reality.

Zara, London

We are always so surprised that such a huge brand always invest in their window schemes.  Ok, well they are not particularly lavish or detailed although there has been some thought in the production of this scheme which we really do appreciated.  While the inspiration behind this particular one remains a mystery to us we are grateful that they invest in their windows nonetheless.

Zara, Cape Town

As one would expect this brand has a presence in town and of course in true fashion their consistency of delivery is quite astounding.  How a mid-range brand with so many stores manages to implement a scheme across so many different sized stores must require military precision.  Of course we have included this scheme from one of their London stores (or at least a version of it).
