Here at Fred Perry in conjunction with www.harlequin-design.com British graffiti Artist Pegasus pays tribute to the legacy of Amy Winehouse with her exclusive Rose design.  The fantastic team at Harlequin design applied the stencils designed by Pegasus wrapping them around plinths in store and as in the the window image above to the fenestration.  Great to see Winehouse's legacy out there on the high street.

Fred Perry, London

We're sure we saw this scheme on W.G.S.N. the other day, so guys you are clearly leading trend-wise here and being watched by the biggest trend agency - amazing.  These are such difficult windows to work with but we thought this scheme was quite admirable and looks great too, don't you?.  We often whizz past here just to have a peek and see what these guys are doing and, for such a small space and for a store which is more of a destination place with their core customers and a few tourists tugging at the old heritage wooden racket strings they seem to do rather well (and they clearly  work hard too.....we love that)  Great fun guys..!

We often forget brands such as Fred Perry who seem to work away doing their thing and perpetually feeding their loyal clientele.  Tucked away somewhere behind Carnaby street in the centre of it all is one of their central stores.  These windows are really very difficult to produce for, for the 21st century demands, although these guys always do exceptionally well, don't you think?  With their repetition of these out sized toy soldiers in a White finish just about sums up the season.  Simple, fun and does everything it is supposed to do.  Perfect for this brand and job well done.

Fred Perry, London

Its been quite a difficult week trying to find creative schemes, however thankfully Fred Perry are rocking the Sale period right now.  Quite a few brands have been highlighting their heritage over the past few months and rightly so too as this particularly draws in the international clientele.  Faux brands and fake heritage also are a huge turn off for us so we love the depth and the details highlighted within this scheme that otherwise would have gone perhaps unnoticed unless one is actually part of the brand itself?  Anyway, another little winner from this brand we think, dont you?

Fred Perry, London

We haven't checked out this brand for quite some time.  Well, not since the installation of the Amy Winehouse launch quite a few months ago now.  But anyway.  During 2011 we have seen quite a few references to trophy heads, whether, real - the skulls of them with horns or recreated in fabric - and tracked this trend throughout the year.  We saw knitted ones in Anthropologie last December in NYC next to the Rockefeller centre (or center? depending on where you are reading this)  and we do love them.  Here at Fred Perry, we have a combination of knit and fabric in conjunction with the the iconic laurel wreath for horns which is of course link very closely with this brand.  Great fun.

This is not Amy Winehouse
Its all go down at Fred Perry right now.  With the launch of the new collection endorsed by Amy Winehouse  AW10 (I always feel that its rather dubious to say 'designed by' as I always wonder how much actual involvement celebrities have in these collections - possibly none) being launched after a gig to 20 competition winners last week in East London.  I'm really warming to the Fred Perry brand as they have been doing some interesting stuff and Amy Winehouse probably suits this brand rather well.  Anyway, maybe swing by and have a closer look at the collection and see what you think.  In the meantime, this is not AW in my photographs.

Or in this one either.

Fred Perry, London

I've never included Fred Perry before on this site. Possibly because they are quite low key these days and perhaps their merchandise tends to form collections within larger stores rather than being contained within a solus site? I don't know. May be they have lost their cool? Who knows? Anyway, it was quite a treat to find this store further along Newburgh street while meandering around town and recorded this for you as it is quite a simple yet fun scheme. Launching their new clocktion (their words not mine, so please don't groan at me) Fred Perry have used these analogue clocks in a repetition format on the base of this scheme with additional clocks placed in the neck of the bust forms. Someone has obviously been ebaying or cleared out their attic or garage and used one of those retro embossed label makers to announce the launch of their new collection. These have been adhered to the outside of the fenestration (I quite like that). Anyway, I could be picky and say that if one looks at advertisements for clocks and watches the hands are always placed at 10.10, 1.50, 7.20 or 4.40 (I bet you never noticed before hey?) in order to frame the brand logo. However, I am glad that these guys have broken the rules as the clock brands in this case are not important and it is perhaps the timeless quality of the brand that this is more representative of? Ultimately, its fun and simple, so lets just enjoy.
