This staggering simple space is quite spectacular at the Camper store on 5th Avenue.  We've seen a few stores from this brand and the fantastic key element is that they are all so different.  OK, well they usually have the catwalk of their product running through the centre of their spaces but the decorative elements always appear so unique.  With that must be thousands of trainers (OK, well sneakers if we must say it) line the whole of the surrounding space in a White finish.  Slightly creepy on the one hand but it really is simultaneously extraordinary.

How cool is this presentation at Camper?  We love these large brush-like structures for this product which just makes everything look just that little but more enticing, interesting and so much less ordinary, don't you think?

In the shopping district of Charlottenburg we came across the Camper store.  Initially, the scheme here does appear like blood stained bales of hay, however if you are able to see past this, these bales of hay work really rather well as kind of plinths from which the product is raised a little higher towards eye-level.  Here we have them placed in a repetition format with very little product placed upon them - a clear indication of the strength of a brand.   These stores tend to be quite simple and therefore these are also a welcome relief from the monotony of large volumes of product which are not fighting for attention.  Simple and clean and thoughtfully produced we think.

When I first saw this store at the start of the millennium I remember being quite in awe of its innovation. I believe they are a Spanish brand with a very long history of shoe making begun originally by Antonio Fluxa. The layout here has always reminded me of a combination of catwalk and large ovens, I think probably because of the Red used on the inside of those enormous lights. Camper encourage us to 'Reinvent our Reality' which is perhaps a little ironic as the store has remained the same for nearly 10 years and perhaps a little past it sell by date in terms of Retail Years. However, the product remains fantastic and the quality is superb and if you do like this kind of thing then maybe drop by 125 Prince St. in SoHo and take a look.

Camper is perhaps one of those brands that create a simple yet a strong visual statement within thier spaces. I have seen quite a few of these stores on my travels and I am always quite amazed at how effective they are with their concepts. This is the fairly new store along Regent st. here in London. Unfortunately these are not the best images having been taken through very smeary glass but nonetheless we can at least get the idea. I haven't been inside this store yet, although it is very very small, to enable me to get a close up of what appear to be red coloured leaves or petals attached to the wall on the left and on the seating. Behind the seating the wall is covered with mirror. The back wall is a simple light box which covers the whole space, in front of which the cash desk is placed. The merchandise has then been layed out in rows. Simple and beautifully produced, what a pleasure to view it on my journey.
