Mappin & Webb, London

This is our final entry this week before we zoom off to Paris to see whats twitching across the channel. Of course we couldn't resist including this little gem (no pun intended) of a scheme at Mappin & Webb right now.  As you probably know already, collaboration is the biggest 'thing' on the high street currently and this one with the fantastic paper sculpture artist  Zoe Bradley is quite an exceptional example which really does complement and demonstrate so well the creative direction that this brand is moving in. How wonderfully refreshing too and all under the careful and creative watch of the group head of creative, the lovely Jamie Shouli.

Mappin and Webb, London

We are literally squeezing in all of the the amazing schemes happening in London right now as there is so much happening around town.  If you happen to be at the end of Bond Street where it meets Piccadilly then do swing by and check out these gorgeous little beauties at Mappin and Webb.   These guys have literally risen visually like Phoenix out of the retail ashes which followed after the global recession and it really is refreshing to see them looking so bold and confident.  We love these props here which really are exquisitely produced and of course so deftly handled.

Mappin and Webb, London

Like a Phoenix, a Hindu Garuda, a Persian Anka, the list goes on, this brand strides more and more into our consciousness. We were looking at Tiffany just last night and, well they may have to just move down the bench and we can only yawn by comparison as this brand just gets better and better visually.  If you weren't at the Mappin and Webb launch event last night at the Cafe Royale then you had better have a good excuse.  We were in awe of the sumptuousness of this brand with its presentation so incredibly fabulous that we are slightly dumbstruck.  OK, well we will get over it, but we couldn't have imagined a better event ourselves.  Everything was just Superb.

Mappin and Webb, London

We usually pass by this store along Bond Street as they rarely do anything interesting.  In fact we have never included them here previously and have never really noticed them before.  Established in 1774 this brand has a massive heritage and therefore no doubt have a huge Asian following, we would imagine?  Anyway, we always go and see what good old, but exciting Tiffany are doing but never here until now.  Someone has clearly been breathing some desperately needed life into this dusty old brand and it is finally looking interesting (we cant say again as they have never done anything before now as far as we know?). Anyway, if you happen to be making a bee line for McQueen or popping in to Joseph on your way to Fortnum's do stop and have a look at what these guys are doing along the way.  The day we looked the passing footfall were loving it and we actually had to take our turn in order to take photos.  What better endorsement that you are doing something less ordinary can you get?  Keep it coming guys...!
