Lanvin, New York

We cant recall seeing this store previously here in New York and actually nearly missed it as the entrance and window space a very small by this cities standards.  However here we have it complete with giant ball suspended in the lobby area.

Lanvin, Paris

While we have a relatively small store for this brand back in London (along Saville Row) here in Paris there are actually two vary large stores on opposite sides of the street along the Rue St. honore.  Whenever we visit Paris we are slightly envious that the brand put so much energy into the windows here, usually with fabulous narratives.  Currently the brand are showcasing their AW19 collection, Mystic Pilgrims.

Lanvin, London

This is quite a simple scheme from Lanvin currently.  Vertical planes in the form of mirrors in a repetition format form the back drop to this scheme.  This is by no means a lavish scheme however this is what happening out there right now.  Other than that there really isn't much more we can say about this installation.

Lanvin, London

This isn't the most exciting scheme we've seen from Lanvin although it is indicative of this time of year when all of the more 'abstract' schemes are wheeled out and installed into windows around town (well some places at least).  If you have the opportunity do visit their store in Paris along the Rue St. Honore which is much larger and more creative energy appears to be injected into their schemes.

Lanvin, London

It seems that even some of the luxury brands are cutting corners right now with some very minimal schemes out there.  Lanvin (at their Paris store at least) usually instal quite exciting schemes with a lot more energy although it seems that London is just not getting the love and attention right now.  As we mentioned in our post yesterday, we are seeing a lot of these kinds of structures; possibly a sign of some tough times for retailers we guess?

This is a slightly more interesting version of the scheme we recently featured on this site while we were in Dubai.  With its illuminated fixture and a nod to a cruciform these fixtures are not exactly blowing our minds although maybe its symptomatic of where we are at this time of year; kind of in between seasons.  Maybe with pending Valentines schemes this brand will do something with a bit more narrative moving forward?

Lanvin, Dubai

This isnt the most visually exciting scheme to begin the week with although this is whats happening at the moment.  We have seen a lot of these metal structures in furniture on our travels, particularly in home ware across New York and London.  This metallic structure created from the repetition of rectangular forms shows the product quite clearly although we do like to see a bit of theatre (and humour) in schemes ourselves.

Lanvin, London

This monochromatic scheme at Lanvin is possibly not the best one that we have seen at this brand with more fixture than narrative although of course the product remains 'king' here naturally.  With their Palmistry references in vinyl placed on the fenestration and textured plinths we are still slightly mystified what it all means.  Maybe we need to dig a little deeper?

Lanvin here in London is looking very hot right now with their large acrylic panels and high resolution prints of ink splats forming the background to their luxury products suspended in a gravitational format on vintage bus forms with articulated arms.  In conjunction with the lovely guys at www.helloflamingo.co.uk these panels contain a variety of different paint effects which are beautifully illuminated and fill their store windows with a flood of amazing colour.

We saw and showed you the larger version of this scheme at Lanvin's Parisian store a short while ago which looked quite spectacular.  Using their signature Blue tone and cartoon-like props this store is looking really cool right now even if the window spaces are relatively small by comparison to their Maison or at least flagship (?) store in Paris.

Lanvin, Paris

With any flagship in any brand of course they will always have the best of the best and first so we always feel a little short changed when we travel see this brands stores either in London or New York.  This store clearly gets all the best stuff to play with and both stores (opposite each other on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré) look incredible.  With its Forget-me-not coloured backdrop (apparently this was the favourite colour of Alber Elbaz who was their designer until 2015) comic strip-like props and mannequins who's faces are highlighted in Black, this installation looks great fun and great to see a bit of 'old school' style in windows.

Lanvin, London

Slightly reminiscent of a Kaiser-Panorama (although in this case the mannequin is static and the viewer themselves move), Lanvin is looking very interesting indeed.  Several mirrors placed around the mannequin are highlighted with neon lighting with additional mirrored fixtures for their smaller products.  The mannequin is an old Rootstein figure from a 90's collection called 'Man' and one of the best male figures (or at least the most masculine) that they ever produced.  Of course we have the obligatory video which can view below or through the link here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9EJJybs3KM

Lanvin, New York

When you have fantastic product to work with you cant go far wrong.  Here at Lanvin, with whom we seem to have a love / hate relationship with regards to their windows, this scheme however in its simplicity is looking rather refreshing among the rest of the bling on the high street.  Very unusual figures used here, the likes of which we've never seen before set against primary coloured rectangles in a gravitational format.

Lanvin, London

We do appreciate and actually often like display cases, particularly very old ones which look like they've had another life somewhere.  We're not always big fans of the schemes here at the London store though while all the effort to the scheme appear to be in Paris: that store seems to get it all and then some. We do wish that the windows looked like they were rather more loved.  You can see the scheme in more detail in out video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Genu3NXjJAg

Lanvin, Dubai

Within the malls here in the middle east it is of course impossible (well, very difficult) to control the lighting.  As you know we normally scour the cities of the world at night time like VM Ninjas but here as its so unbearably hot outside so there is very little notable retail on any actual high street.  We just thought we should mention this as our images this week do have a lot of reflection on them.  However, here at Lanvin, foliage of varying types is suspended from the ceiling of this enormous store in a gravitational format and in some instances cover the mannequins faces.  We're not entirely sure what the message is here but in this case it doesn't really matter we guess?  Its a bit of fun and actually as so many other retailers are still in Sale there isn't much else to select from.
