We're regular visitors to Matches Fashion's website and can regularly be found licking our screens and wishing for their products.  Is that to much information?  This is probably one of the finest boutiques in town and we love it.  We're also huge fans of their window schemes too; we loved their recent neon scheme with the incredible references to Vegas and post modernism.  Anyway, their latest offering is of course bringing us into Summer (even though we are still waiting for it to happen here in London).  Anyway, Matches' scheme 'draws inspiration from this seasons floral trend and features designers such as Erdem, Vionnet, Dolce and Gabbana and Emilia Wickstead'.  Another winner from this phenomenal brand we think.

We adore Matches Fashion right now.  How cool are these guys?  Did you see the Post-Modernism exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum last year?  If you did you will instantly recognise where these guys are coming from.  The exhibition itself included our own particular favourite, Venturi's 'Learning from Las Vegas'  (images from our own personal research in Vegas can be viewed in the pages above).  The exhibition itself also included outfits worn by Leigh Bowery in Michael Clarke's production, 'Because we must' at Saddlers Wells Theatre, which we saw in 1987 - yeah we know..!  Anyway, if you missed the opportunity then you missed an enormous gem as one of the most recognisable trends right now is the influence of Post-modernism in store windows and the Bauhaus in some product.  One only has to look at the current schemes at Burberry and Hermes to confirm this.  Matches Fashion 'wanted to capture and communicate some key visual motifs across this period to create some super-bold visual statements! The concept links directly to one of the biggest trends of SS12 "New Neon" and focuses on a powerful and iconic window display & translates through our in-store environment, the scheme also features pieces of Neon artwork by www.godsownjunkyard.co.uk'  '

Have you seen the scheme at Matches yet?  This incredible luxury retailer has been working in collaboration with Jotta production and have commissioned emerging artists to create unique installations in each of their London stores for Christmas 2011. Each window features a festive three dimensional illuminated artwork by artists Chloe Bonfield, Puck Collective, and POS Textiles, surrounded by a display of gifts decorated with bespoke wrapping paper designed especially for Matches.  This is an incredible move forward for retailers tapping into the resources of London/UK's finest and creative Artists which we support 100%.  After all, both Warhol and Dali began their careers in this industry and so much potential is lost if we're not behind the new, fresh and talented.  We love Matches philosophy, don't you?

Wow, it really must be British Summer time now that Matches Fashion have launched their recently scheme. The latest offering from this brand is called  "Print, Colour, Clash [and] based on this season's Print trend taking inspiration from the work of Irina Graewe [and] featuring collections such as Suno, Missoni and Carven".  "The use of African textiles as head-dresses also accent the Tribal feeling [of these collections] which are used in conjunction with the vintage bust-forms from (our dear friends) at Proportion>London".  It really is great to see these boutiques make such an effort to grab our attention on the high street, particularly when so many multiple brands appear to have simply given up.  To us, Matches Fashion is screaming that they do care about what they do and that they do care about their presentation and about how we as the customer are nurtured from the high street into their stores.  See you there at 9.00am then?

As we begin to get into the full swing of London Fashion week, there are some incredible schemes out there on the high street to entertain and wow us all.  Matches Fashion is no exception to this and great inspiration for concept development and amazing installations at their very best.  'The scheme [at Matches Fashion] was based on the "Neon" trend, [where they have] showcased the likes of C.Kane, Roksanda Ilincic, Holly Fulton & Chrissie Morris shoes in the women's windows & Rake / Burberry Prorsum in mens [wear]. The rods [illustrated in the images] are made from polished clear acrylic and lit from above which then travelled down the length of the pole.'  'The backdrops were made from white pyramid sound insulation tiles'.  We love the use of materials that the guys at Matches Fashion have used - simple, clean and purely stunning.  Thanks guys for sharing this with us.

If you haven't seen the latest and seasonal offering from Matches you really are in for a treat.  With 13 stores in total stretching from Wimbledon, Richmond, Notting Hill to Mayfair and Marylebone, these stores ooze everything a fabulous boutique should be.  Their current scheme uses these cut out White forms and high White gloss Mannequins creating a winter wonderland with a sense of depth around the product - no easy task in these small spaces.  There is no need for any detail in this scheme as our creative minds fill in the gaps and our eyes are focused on the product itself. We are teased just a little in our attempts to see the product beyond the immediate scheme and as we are naturally curious beings, we are simply drawn in to take a closer look - job well done I'd say.
