Market Day, London

We've been scouring the markets around London this weekend looking for those elusive and delicious finds for clients.  This is a great way to add interesting props to a window, particularly if you can find several of one type in order to place in a repetition format (not always an easy task due to the nature of markets).  What is also helpful is having several concepts to work with before you go in case you cant find that James Bond 1960's globe style TV (we did see one) or the taxidermy to send PETA into a frenzy.  As always, the only limitation is your imagination, oh and budgets of course although you can get some great bargains too.

Market Day, London

This weekend we're searching and scouring for clients at the markets and looking for the latest finds and particularly the latest trends.  We've seen the chairs above at the coolest Cafes already in London and there are lots of these, so we're tempted to purchase a few of these ourselves.  We have also found tonnes of stuff that we will see on the high street over the next year from the reflective, shanty and just about every other trend.  If you want be at the forefront of it all, just get in contact.

Market Day finds

We've been searching for all the latest trends in product, colour, pattern, textures, materials and so on around the markets in exotic places this week.  We've seen a plethora of metal buckets, gorgeous mirrors, furniture to die for and the most unusual bits, including the hideous Elephant leg umbrella stand (below) and the most beautiful pearl finished ceramics from Sorrento, glass Lemon tree fly catchers from Spain, barnacle covered terracotta lobster pots, and a heap of unusual bits and pieces to enhance the creative commercial environment.  Vintage fur coats, chamber pots, oil lamps, animal feeders, four poster beds, jewellery....oh the list goes on.  We left with a very heavy van load of beautiful things for our clients.  If you're looking for something special (not the fur however) let us know and we'll try and find it for you.

Market Day

That's just how I felt this morning.......Well its market day again today and goodness knows its freezing cold right now in the early hours and no fun having to get up out of bed to snap up the latest stuff, although I must say that it is always worth it and I always look forward to seeing those delicious finds and buying for clients. After a hot Tea and croissant from our friends across the water it always makes things just that little bit better and I get over it.  Anyway, the above little beauty was snapped up in minutes as I saw a very small old-ish hairy man in a long Black coat carrying her away in a very large bag and quite honestly looking very dubious at that - still whatever floats your boat an' all that.  The usual crew were out in force peddling their new wares and I did happen upon some gorgeous bits such as the currently unloved but wonderful shaped chair below.  As for the stacked suitcases, is anyone still doing this?  Sooooo 2010.

Market Day

Bonjour...!...Nothing beats the experience of market day for me.  I hate having to get up out of bed at 2.00am and drive for hours and hours along motorways, tiny roads, going through the hassle of passport control, to get to the markets and this time of year is not my favourite when its cold here in the UK.  However, its always worth going even just to have a poke and rummage around the heaps of gems I find here and watching the sun come up, priceless (as they say in the adverts).
Stuff I never knew I wanted or needed, I suddenly have an overwhelming desire to own - how shallow am I, hey?  Anyway, while shopping for clients here are just some of the delights I found on my various journeys of which I seem to have so many of these days with clients wanting that differentiation from other brands or simply want gorgeous things to look at, touch, feel, look again and enjoy.  I've stocked up on all the latest bits that you may well see in the coming months, so sorry guys.
