Jaegar, London

Wow, this is a brand from yesteryear which began life would you believe as Dr. Jaegar's Sanitary Woolen system Co. Ltd. (not quite so sexy, eh?) in 1884.  We pass by this store regularly although we rarely capture their schemes as they always seem so dull and ordinary.  However, having scanned right across the high street these guys are absolutely on the mark this time.  Textured White appears to be the main leader in trends right now with combinations of Blue and White being seen just about everywhere.  We will show you some of them over the next few days but in the meantime, great to see this dusty old brand looking so good again.

Jaeger, London

With a heritage dating back to 1884, this enormously iconic British brand in the heart of London's West End, Jaeger has had new life pumped into its veins with the launch of their stunning newly refreshed store. Linking its incredible heritage with the contemporary shopper the Uber creative (and actually damn right deliciously clever) guys at Elemental Design worked in conjunction with the brand to turn their tired (our words) looking space into one of the most desirable places and spaces on the high street.  Thankfully, as heritage is one of the few things we have left in Britain which generates the desirability to be a part of either through buying into it or through products or places, we feel assured that this national treasure of a brand is in safe hands and through this fantastic reinvention will continue onward for yet another century. This gorgeous Boutique Gallery features ready-to-wear, accessories and jewellery from the best of British brands  So, if you've lost touch with this store or only give it a cursory glance, then do swing by and take another look?

Jaegar, London

We've been seeing an awful lot of Polaroids around town at the moment in all sorts of varieties.  Big one, small ones and some as big as your head (we seemed to have somehow slipped into the lyrics of the song I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts for some reason........?) Anyway, here at Jaegar, known for their Uber quality and historical longevity we have a perfectly produced installation advertising their Boutique.  Here also, incidentally they are celebrating wool week too.

Jaegar, London

We rarely include Jaegar on this site, however their London Fashion week scheme is so incredibly on trend that it is wonderfully painful.  We love the 'wired' look that we've seen around the world recently both in product, in windows and interiors.  Anyway, we thought we would share out delight that this brand have done something so delicious that we had to include them again.

Sale: Jaegar, London

It is so cold here at the moment in London and the snow and ice doesn't help matters. However, I was crossing over Regent st. from Conduit st. here in London while meandering through the West End in order to keep on top of all of the wonderful concepts and ideas that are being explored in the city and came across Jaegar. Of course we can see multiple schemes around the globe that use vinyl on the glass, and Jaegar seem to be using this a lot in the past few schemes, although, to me, this gives this concept an almost 1950's television set feel to their Sale concept.
OK, well it does look a little messy, if I am honest, but it is Sale time and the 'market stall' look seems to be de riguer here in town. Anyway, again we can see the land-of-the-giants sized lettering, as used in Fenwicks too along Bond St., only these are glittery too. Jaegar, usually produce very high quality schemes, although not necessarily particularly creative, but what they do, they do well. Anyway, role on post-sale.

Jaeger, London

This is an interesting idea produced by Jaegar along Regent Street here in London. I was drawn to it I think because I had seen a similar idea in 2001 in Tokyo in the then new Louis Vuitton store. I particularly like the hounds tooth vinyl on the glass here at Jaegar. The oval form frames the whole image of the store window almost phasing out the area behind and focuses our attention on what is in the window itself. The figures are in the usual groups of 2, 3 and 1 which of course visually works very well and the background large format image communicates the lifestyle and possibly our aspirations? I do feel that this window works very well in its own right but I also feel that having seen the Louis Vuitton store in Tokyo 8 years ago, perhaps more could have been done to create the impact that this wonderful store deserves? The Louis Vuitton store created a kind of strip tease effect that made one go up to it and see beyond the vinyl. After all, as we know (or are prepared to admit), things that are gradually revealed (as in a strip tease) and that we discover are far more exciting than if we are shown a full frontal. Aren't they?
