Victorinox, London

We haven't included this brand here in a very long time as we were rather furious that they put live Gold Fish in their windows which anyone in their right mind would think was inappropriate, right?  However, we have calmed down now and their latest installation with the strap line Slice / Dice and some out sized props fill the windows here.  We're still trying to locate that elusive Swiss Army knitting needle however.

If you are looking for a new sleek Swiss Army knife then the latest product from Victorinox is the one for you.  The new spartan is the focal point to this installation which we have spotted here in London although the scheme is worldwide so you should be able to view it wherever you are in the world and another fantastic collaboration with www.dfrost.com

Victorinox Brand Damage, London

These poor little guys are being used completely for our entertainment and in order to promote a product.  Plastic, metal and leather (?) in an environment which is so incredibly sensitive to these poor fellas.  We are absolutely appalled.  We photographed this just a few hours ago and want to communicate how obnoxious some brands can be in order to communicate a message.  Victori-obnoxious re-home these little boys and be rather more creative and original?

Victorinox, London

It is very rare indeed to see live animals in retail store windows in the 21st Century.  Sure in China this is a common occurrence, but then regulations are rather more archaic and sensitivity to animals' well being is often seriously overlooked.  Thankfully as we are now in the Autumn season, sunlight is rather lacking here in London (window spaces become very hot in sunlight), however this doesn't excuse the use of live exotic fish (which are particularly sensitive) in a tank in a window on Bond street here in London with several metallic watches placed around them.  Down right cruel and unnecessary - no matter what the brand may tell us.  While we anticipate a lil 'ole e-mail explanation from Victorinox's PR and / or marketing departments sometime soon (as we often do from so many brands), the bottom line is guys that you are being cruel to animals in the UK for the sake of a product promotion and this is not acceptable.  This is an easy, obvious and unoriginal solution to demonstrate a products qualities.  If the company were truly creative the use of live exotic fish would not be necessary.
Ultimately, if we say nothing then who will?  No-one.  We also expect to see this scheme removed as a matter of urgency...............we're watching and waiting Victorinox.

Incidentally, the finish is also awful.

Victorinox, London

We were drawn to the scheme here at Victorinox for a variety of reasons.  Firstly, because we like this sense of exhibition space that they have created here around such a tiny product which kind of promotes this sense of the show room rather than narrative.  We were also drawn in because of the Le Corbusier influenced (we are guessing) product here; we're huge fans of Le Corbusiers work.  It appears that we can customise our own product here which is quite a leap forward in product development at this brand and we thought that the only place we could do this currently is at Nike and their trainers (or sneakers if you're reading this stateside)  Anyway, an interesting concept nonetheless; make ours a Swiss Army Knitting Needle please with a bit that opens all doors and safety deposit boxes.

Victorinox, London

We were actually genuinely very surprised so see this scheme at Victorinox for the Jubilee celebrations.  This was such a pleasant surprise, considering most brands along Bond st., here in London completely missed the opportunity to reach out to potential customers.  Anyway, these guys have shown us what they really are capable of and we love it.  With their giant cake, sponge finger lettering with the whole scheme complete with tea party, these guys have got it so right.  We are so bored with large format graphics with a few nice mannequins attached and we are keeping our (sponge) fingers crossed that these guys will keep bringing entertainment back to the high street.  Brilliant guys.

Victorinox, London

To my amazement I've only just realised that I have never included this brand on this site although this is probably because they don't always do anything very interesting?  Anyway, this is possibly the best scheme I've seen from this brand, but then it is the Christmas season so one would expect to see brands make at least a little effort.  With their large format graphic backdrop with what look like baubles, this scheme is at least a little more interesting.  However, while Xmas is the shortened version of Christmas, i.e X = Christ,  I don't ever remember it being hyphenated? i.e. X-mas.  Does this mean I will now have to call Christina  Aguilera, X-tina Aguilera? Or at least make it a Merry Victorinox-mas, guys?  Spelling error aside, I do like the coloured vinyl  on the glass in Orange (even if this seasons colour is actually Purple (Advent) and from a fashion trend point of view Copper....d'uh)  Come on guys at least get one thing right.  And there I was wondering why I haven't included this brand before hey?  Oh, now I remember.
