World Duty Free, UK

Images Courtesy and Copyright www.global-display.co

We occasionally like to mix things up a bit here at www.retailstorewindows.com and one area we don't normally include on this site is World Duty Free.  If you happen to be preparing for that much needed Summer holiday and also happen to be travelling through either Stanstead, Heathrow, Manchester or Gatwick airports here in the UK then you will no doubt come across this new installation by www.global-display.co  Inspired by the essence of flight the team have adopted the colours of the UK's Union flag with their hanging ribbon frames positioned throughout World Duty Free adding a dose of drama with their colourful and impactful installation.

The Lake District, United Kingdom

We've been banished to the depths of middle England for a few days with one of our clients and were released for a couple of hours to wander around the local area of the Lake District, of course ever ready and armed with our cameras to bring you the latest and....er....greatest from the Lake District. OK, well we didn't expect to find the latest Prada walking boots or Gucci ski suits (and we didn't find any anyway). However, this is a beautiful part of the United Kingdom and of course should be celebrated. The air is so clean we choked, the silence deafening. In an area that boasts the final resting place of Wordsworth and the Beatrix Potter experience we ventured around the village of Ambleside, cab in tow and scouted around for beautiful things. The above is the result of our strategic wander.

SFD, UK

If you haven't seen the newest range from SFD, then here's a sneak preview for you.  Their "new range of mannequins designed exclusively by SFD introduces a contemporary and stylish vision with a mixture of abstract and realistic features". "The collection named PULSE brings movement and drama back to the mannequin world, enabling the client to be as extravagant or as commercial as their needs require".
"Aged between 12 and 24, the PULSE range incorporates slim male, elegant female and teenage figures". "The versatility of this range creates an attractive proposition for high-fashion brands, using the dramatic poses which will work well in-store and in the windows, and also for high-street retailers who may be looking to use a family of innovative mannequins".
"PULSE differs from other mannequins on the market at the moment with their exaggerated poses and represents a shift change back towards realistic figures". "The semi-realistic figures provide an innovative balance between the minimal maintenance of abstraction and the impactful nature of realistic mannequins".
"Designed by [the ever talented] Christopher Willey in conjunction with the creative team at SFD the new range also showcases [their] bespoke mannequin production capabilities". "From initial concept, 3D visualisation and sculpting, through to eye catching wigs, make-up and clothing".
If you can make it to the VM and Display show at the business design centre this week, do go and check these guys out.  There are a tonne of brands out there that are biting their hands off for this collection.
