Kenzo, Dubai

From what we are able to deduce this is a collection especially produced for the Dubai mall, called La Collection Momento 4.  While this is not something we ourselves would ever purchase, when you are in this country you realise that the locals (and so many tourists) love the brash and the bold and therefore it is clear who they are catering for.  Also included here is a special installation by Gary Card which appears to be a stack of very large Tomatoes really.

Kenzo, London

We don't often manage to capture the Kenzo schemes here in London as the security grilles are usually down as we peruse the city at night time.  However, thankfully they seem to have been lifted recently and we can now show you their schemes without the dreadful obstruction.  Here at the brand, mannequins with shiny metal plates added to their heads and of course the obligatory heart motif nodding to the oh-so-special day that is Valentines is their current scheme right now.

Kenzo, Paris

We're in Paris for the next couple of weeks before hitting the delights of Euroshop (maybe with a few London bits in between) and where better to begin than Kenzo.  The London store is always covered with security grilles so we never seem to have the opportunity to capture their windows but here in Paris close to the Champs Elysees this stores windows are huge and glow.  Large neon lighting with the brand logo scream its presence although how do we describe the main scheme?  References to pixels perhaps with the addition of coloured filters and coloured vinyl on the fenestration?

Kenzo, Milan

http://www.retailstorewindows.com

Its usually very difficult to capture a Kenzo scheme back in London and we only have the occasional opportunity to view the Paris store so we were particularly delighted to find this store here in Milan.  Rocking the kind of look we usually see at Moncler the scheme here includes an out sized hand in a gravitational format with what appear to be strands of pouring from it onto a giant dish (we don't know if this has any significance so can only guess if it actually refers to anything).  The main scheme has vinyl arch forms across the window and on the back wall and this is this is the scheme which flows through to La Rinascente, the cities main department store (and we guess across the world too)

Kenzo, Paris

We don't often hear very much about Kenzo back in London and of course the security grilles obscure the windows so much that it really is impossible to capture what they are doing.  But not here in sunny Paris.  With their No Fish, No Nothing campaign, which is essentially highlighting the potential further loss of endangered species, and a just cause it is too.  It is a surprise to see this brand shouting anything at all actually as they always seem to sit so quietly almost unnoticed, but not any more.  A stage set backdrop in an abstracted seascape with a bit of vinyl thrown in; this scheme is very simple but communicates their campaign perfectly well.

Kenzo, London

We don't normally have the opportunity to capture this store as they always almost completely cover this window with their security grille.  Whats the point in having a a window scheme in that case?  Anyway, we occasionally see this brands stores around the world and are always drawn in.  In this instance, although currently in Sale we did particularly like the details on the paper structured fashion shown here.  Our cameras didn't quite capture all f the detail, although we're sure you get the gist.

Kenzo, Burjuman, Dubai

I am always strangely drawn to Kenzo whenever I see it in London as it seems such a mysterious brand to me that I know so little about. I suppose it just doesn't scream from the high street, but always seems to be there. Kenzo, of course, is now part of the portfolio of the ever increasing LVMH group but I strangely never really see anything of it apart from the ubiquitous perfume adverts. Also, the London store has one of those omnipresent security grills so sadly used in so many stores in the 'thieving' West. Here in Dubai of course, this is not a problem. The scheme in this store did grab my attention (possibly because I didn't have view it through a security grill) and on closer inspection contains what looked like pieces of old manuscript with writing in fountain pen which have been 'stuck' to form a backdrop. This actually works very well with the merchandise and the white gloss mannequins. However, I am not so sure about the bottles suspended from the branches around it. This seems rather an afterthought to me rather than a significant part of the scheme and perhaps some other prop would have been more appropriate? What do you think?
