Hit snooze or seize the day?  Hit snooze of course we're not barbarians, jeez.  Joking aside, following on from the Well being scheme at Selfridges which we posted on Thursday, here we have another at this brand.  This is of course an important subject to promote and to be honest something we are all probably in need of right now.

You've probably seen the ad.  (if you live in the UK at least) now you can see the windows too.  As with so many retailers out there, budgets have no doubt been slashed quite brutally this year so its no surprise that the TV advertising with a much wider reach across a whole range of audiences, no doubt got the larger share.  We have seen some killer Christmas schemes here previously although its quite obvious that times have been tough even for this monolith on the high street.

As always this brand deliver beautifully executed schemes.  OK, well they are not always the most exciting but they are excellent quality.  But.  Forget that.  We are absolutely obsessed with the reflection in the canopy.  Now, if this were one of the other department stores around town they would probably have used that to their advantage and brought it into a scheme.  We cant stop looking at it.  Perhaps one day they will do something with it such as produce a scheme which needs to be viewed in the reflection?

This brand appear to go through a whole variety of visual vibes from some cutting edge inspiration (which sadly doesn't appear for very long sadly) to the more straight forward.  Like everyone else we imagine they have had their fair share of problems over the the previous 18 months so its a wonder that they have anything at all in their windows.  However, the main reason we have included them is that the reflection of the canopy above the windows looks so cool and we have deliberately included it.  Its a shame that they didn't make more use of it but here you go, this is whats happening out there.

We're always slightly bemused why the Christmas adverts for this brand are so highly anticipated?  What is it about this brand that so many of you out there (and you know who you are) ohh and aah at just the sight of a JL Christmas campaign?  That said, this year the brand have produced their campaign around a small dragon called Excitable Edgar.  How excited we hear you ask?  Well, just watch the advert and see.  Great quality scheme nonetheless at their flagship store along Oxford Street.

We do find ourselves willing this brand to do more theatrical schemes, although that said it cant be an easy task producing what they do with so many stores and vast window spaces.  Of course what they  they do very well and with a core customer which includes just about everyone out there who would risk alienating any of them right?  This is just a snippet of their window scheme as a lot of them contain homeware which is rarely interesting anyway (unless you happen to be ABC, NYC).

Working with the illustrator John Thurlby and the fantastic team at John Lewis the incredibly industrious guys at www.harlequin-design.com produced this exciting installation for the brand to launch their National Treasures campaign for their Oxford Street store.  With 143 individual characters and 22 moving parts across their run of windows this scheme makes a big statement.  Fortunately we have a quick video to share with you here to really appreciated this scheme beyond still images.

John Lewis has recently launched their latest own brand collection, And/Or.  The incredible team at www.harlequin-design.com worked with the brand to create this impressive digital installation at their flagship stores along Oxford street and Sloane Square here in the centre of it all.  The content, produced by Adam & Eve, using bright-side technology (obviously difficult to truly appreciate in a still image) was synced across all three screens in each of the windows.  We've been passed here ourselves and it really does look very impressive in the 'flesh' with so much digital media and a very confident statement from this brand.

Apparently in 2017 it is predicted (from the trend reports we read) that we will all be micro-clanning and digital cocooning.  What this means is that we will only follow and surround ourselves with like minded people and develop more intimate friendships based on similar beliefs.  While we cant suggest that this scheme had this in mind while it was being developed it is interesting that it seems to inextricably linked. So, stock up with their latest digital offering at John Lewis and get out there and Flourish.

You may already have seen the latest advertisement for John Lewis's latest Christmas campaign which can be seen across a multitude of social media featuring Buster the Boxer.  In conjunction with those lovely guys at www.harlequin-design.com the team have created these incredible windows with fantastic underground scenarios in burrows filled with the brands' products complete with animals featured in the ads.  Go and take a look at this scheme if you can as it really is a corker.

The Back to School schemes are creeping in already (or in the case of John Lewis along Oxford Street, Back to University).  With their Green back drop, faux grass panels and of course the suggested room settings, the products of course look very desirable.  One thing that you might not notice immediately is the time on the clock in the image below; 10.10.  This team clearly know that times on watches/clocks are always set at either 10.10, 13.50, 19.20 or occasionally 16.40, just look at any advertising and you can spot who gets this right (or not).

Celebrating H.M. Queen Elizabeth II 90th birthday  ahead of the largest street party along the Mall (The Patrons Lunch), John Lewis is not only looking very patriotic but also very seasonal.  With their giant floral Union flag on a grassy backdrop and neon lighting placed amongst greenery their huge window spaces along Oxford street are a huge nod to the British culture.  Naturally the scheme is filled with stereotypical Britishness complete with teapots and Union flag cushions although we're sure the passing tourists love this stuff.

You may have already seen the advertisements from this brand (if you are in the UK) featuring the Man on The Moon.  The story here (in case you were wondering) is of a young girl called Lilly who, looking through a telescope sees, well you guessed it, a man on the moon.  Lilly is determined to get something to him, to send him a message to let him know someone on earth is thinking of him.  All very poignant with the scheme here brought to life for us walking on the high street by those lovely guys at www.harlequin-design.com
