It's unusually very hot in London right now which makes this scheme even more appealing.  We've seen references to pools, water, port holes and just about every other combination you can possibly image in relation to this time of year.  However, together with the merchandise this is a very refreshing installation.

After including the fantastic scheme from Harvey Nichols in our last post, it is quite difficult to feel wowed by anything else at the moment.  The latest installation from this brand is not particularly interesting although we do quite like the use of the Glossy Red on the flooring and pillars applied as plinths.  Other than that, roll on Christmas schemes we guess.

We were looking at this scheme back in London recently and it actually looked really great.  This version we are not so sure of.  We love the iridescent backdrop (although perhaps it could have been rather more substantial) however the mannequins are not very dynamic and actually rather ordinary which creates a very static installation.  The design was no doubt produced using photoshop and clearly implemented with no love whatsoever.

We love a bit of iridescent fabric and this window has it in abundance.  While we continue our search in the currently barren wasteland that is London right now we have happened on a few bits in the oasis known as Bond street.  Thankfully, luxury brands are beginning to install their new schemes so we should have a few more visuals and be able to post rather more regularly than we have been able to do recently.  In the meantime, here's Versace.

There are some small snippets of creativity out there although at this time of year they are very hard to find.  This is not unusual of course.  This scheme, is, perhaps not the most exciting thing we have seen although the ice-like boxes/podiums are very apt for this time of year.  What else can we say really?  Hopefully things will pick up again shortly.

We often wonder if this brand has their own visual merchandising specialist for their windows as they do tend to look rather like a photoshopped scheme which was produced in order to 'sell' the look to an area manager-kind-of-scenario.  That said, great colour combination although we do wish they would wire their mannequins rather than these ugly base plates which tend to make schemes appear more corporate rather than luxury.

We have seen some great windows from the brand although only on occasions.  One of their schemes in fact will feature in our new book due out in November this year.  Additionally, these are not our best shots anyway, although to be honest there isn't a lot to select from right now so we cant be choosey.  A lot of brands have gone in to Sale recently so we are even more limited but hopefully this will pick up again soon.

We have been trying to recall when this brand moved in and Bally who were here before moved out although we seem to have completely lost track of time and everything over the past year is a bit of a blur.  Anyway, we have previously seen some interesting schemes at this brand although they can be a little hit and miss and one minute they implement a killer installation and then the next one is very simple.  Perhaps it's a budget thing.  Anyway, its no real surprise that this scheme is fairly simple given the circumstances which we find ourselves in however they have at least produced something and this is appreciated.

We have been passed this scheme on several occasions although not had the opportunity to stop and take a closer look until now.  While we have seen the use of these types of pillars / columns in schemes on many occasions (Max Mara have been referencing these for some time now) we do love the colours used.  This installation absolutely glows onto Sloane street particularly at night time.

If you have ever been to the Galeria Vittorio Emanuele II (which is as grand as its name) you will know how wonderfully impressive this place is.  Of course the luxe brands have a big presence here as one would expect.  Versace are rocking the outsized shirt props right now (sadly you cant tell the scale of these shirts which are of giant proportions) across their two windows.

Sadly we missed the Versace Home Exhibition here in Milan as the tickets were clearly snapped up super fast however we can at least enjoy their window schemes.  Back in London, this brand don't tend to do very much on the visual front however here in Milan, wow, a great scheme.  We're not fans of the product ourselves but just look at this chair.

While we are not big fans of the merchandise we do like the ostentatiousness of the brand and they clearly do very well; although strangely we never seem to see anyone wearing this stuff.....do they?   Do they really?   Anyway, at their megastore along 5th here in the Big Apple their seasonal offer consists of a large screaming graphic forming the backdrop and well. not much else unless you count their merchandise, and who does?

Does anyone actually wear this stuff?  Our eyes are slightly smarting at this scheme which clearly is product-led although we're not entirely sure that it all needed to be the same.....and some would add dreadful......motif.  Not us though, oh no.  We wouldnt be so harsh.  The scheme (and lets be honest..the product too) is rather 'over-cooked' for us although clearly there is a market out there of people who buy this stuff.  We just hope we dont bump into any of them any day soon.
