Bally, London

We appear to have reached saturation point on train carriages within schemes at the moment (lets not even mention aeroplane interiors) so we're not particularly excited to see this one at Bally right now although it is worth including here as this is what is happening on the high street right now.  Hopefully we can eventually move on from these types of schemes and see something a little different shortly.

This brand is looking so interesting at the moment and ever so slightly bordering on a kind of Cos  / Burberry look with their 'concrete' blocks, metal frames and Yellow coloured bust heads.  We do love these kinds of head forms even if we have seen them crop up over time at multiple brands.  They look great, and in this shocking Yellow tone, even better.

We're in that slightly in between period at the moment, remnants of Sale, a bit of Valentines and a tentative nod to Chinese New Year.  Any retailers acknowledging Chinese New Year nearly all simply have some text on their windows, apart from this brand of course.  A beautiful installation for the year of the Pig using repetition of the Chinese traditional knot in a repetition and radiation format.

We're loving the new collection from Bally right now.  The Swizz Beatz collection Bally X Shok 1 looks more like some of the collections from brands such as LV and Hindmarch and we're drooling.  With their X-ray / collaborative promotion Bally is looking great and the products are delicious.  Do check out their website as this collection really is worth checking out.

This is quite a difficult scheme to describe to you other than that it contains a series of shapes and abstract animal forms.  As the brands website is currently in Sale we're guessing that this is one of those gap filling schemes we normally see at this time of year which bridge the gap between Christmas and the next seasonal launch without actually saying 'Sale' anywhere.

It seems that collaborations are still the road to take if you want to invigorate your schemes with a different direction.  This collaboration between Bally and Swizz Beatz is great fun and fantastic to see this brand doing something different and relevant.  Do check out Bally's website too, particularly the Bally x Swizz Beatz area and if you are in a quiet office be sure to turn the volume up on your computer...;o)

Although the weather here in London is typically cold, wet and generally quite miserable, at least SS17 schemes are slipping in quite nicely already.  High gloss geometric plinths and chequered tiling are a bold statement against the bright coloured walls at Bally in the centre of all things luxury.   This scheme has been inspired by the colour palette of the brands SS17 press presentation in Milan and each of the elements used here are interchangeable, versatile and easy to install.   Another winning scheme produced by those clever guys at www.millingtonassociates.com

This is one of the best schemes we have seen in 2016 at Bally.  In collaboration with www.millingtonassociates.com the brand have used their iconic Red Moon mountain logo in conjunction with perspective graphics from the Bally Museum in Shonenwerd (who knew this brand has a Museum?) which provided the inspiration behind this traffic stopping scheme.  A huge belated congratulations also to the team at www.millingtonassociates.com for their multiple awards at the VM & Display Awards event recently too.

London Fashion Week has descended on London yet again and if you haven't seen the latest exciting collaboration between www.millingtonassociates.com and Bally then here's a snapshot for you. Staging their amazing AW16 collection the latest scheme consists of a checkerboard carpet and a heavy velvet curtain held back with a brass plated frame.  The men's accessories collection has been complemented by a smoked mirror and brushed brass plinth while the women's collection has a wonderful zing of Pink and Green with Brass details. Do go and check the store if you can as these things are so much more appreciated in the 'flesh'.

Bally, London

Bally have really changed direction with this scheme and a welcomed one it is too.  Normally we see quite dull fixtures similar to Salvatore Ferragamo until they went for all out fun with their graphic schemes and this one is quite the corker.  Rocking the Artists studio look this brand appears so much more interesting than it has for a while; remember the Goat and handbag scheme?  'Solid' blocks in a Grey, paint pots and brushes surround the product and rolls of fabric help to create the narrative around their gorgeous product.

We have to admit it, we are struggling to find Bally in any way exciting at the moment.  Gawd, how dull is this scheme?  We have repetition of the cylinders, a mannequin and, well a cactus.  Revolutionary stuff, this.  C''mon guys, cheer.  Please can someone inject a bit of excitement into these schemes?

This is a very clean scheme at Bally right now, don't you think?  OK, well out sized lettering is not the most innovative of concepts and we've seen it countless times over the years, but that's not to say that it doesn't look good of course (although motifs of objects tend to make us rather nauseous).  As schemes go at this brand, it has been very hit and miss over the years (lets not forget the old Goat and Handbag scheme from while ago) so this one is certainly a winner for these relatively tiny spaces.

Hmmmmmm..........Bally do some simple schemes and this is one of, well, we guess a mountain?  A slightly odd scheme but we guess simple and easy to install (although incredibly dull) and therefore not requiring the skills of a Visual Merchandiser.  Maybe employ a few creative ones and and inject something less ordinary into the windows?

Bally are taking such an interesting direction and we love this new installation that we spotted a couple of weeks ago.  Laser cut materials are clearly on trend right now as we've seen similar links at places such as Tory Burch.  Anyway, the colours and tones are wonderful, the craftsmanship is incredible, but what is it with this fricking goat again?  Come on guys drop this goat fetish; it looks dreadful, appears to have nothing to do with the brand? (unless you tell us otherwise) and completely jars with this installation.  We're guessing this is the influence of the dead hand of marketing and PR interfering again with the creativity of the Visual Merchandising department just so that they can tick a box.  OK, box ticked, get it out now?

We do like the simplicity of the schemes at Bally, and so often they do some really clever stuff.  We're not sure about the Goat with a bag on its back, however of course Louis Vuitton does have a bag on a horses back which we loved so what more can we say?  Tonally the scheme works beautifully however.
