Well, Bond street lights were switched on last night. Bows, hey? Sigh..... Maybe we'll see something rather more original next year? Although probably not - looks like cookie cutter world is here to stay even around the most cutting edge brands in the world.
I really like the Bond Street bows. They look pretty and are really Christmasy. Unlike some streets who have these modern 'thought provoking' lights which just look like big advertising opportunities for the company which made them and do not represent Christmas. The stores in Bond Street also go to some much effort with their stores and windows. Cartier has a huge gift box pinned to the front of the building. Van Cleef have lovely forest trees. There is nothing wrong with tradition and certainly no point in going all ugly just to be cool.
