Hogan, London

Although this is quite a simple scheme it did take some time to work out this hashtag 'GENH'.  Just to clarify,  this is something completely separate from the ordinary generational categories such as Gen X, Gen Z, Baby Boomers, Millennial's and so on and this appears to refer to the generation who have been around since Hogan's launch in the 1980's.  Very clever concept we thought although it would just make them a mixture of Gen Z and Millennials anyway.

Roberto Cavalli, London

Theres quite a market stall feel to this installation, don't you think?  This appears to be where the brand is headed with their more urban approach to their schemes. (you may also remember their recent Rock 'n' Roll installation).  Perhaps this is their new USP?  We are actually thankful that they have finally found an angle to work from as the windows here have been quite generic for some time now.  We're not big fans of fluorescent (our eyes are rolling) so we haven't quite decided how we feel about this scheme.

Versace, London

After including the fantastic scheme from Harvey Nichols in our last post, it is quite difficult to feel wowed by anything else at the moment.  The latest installation from this brand is not particularly interesting although we do quite like the use of the Glossy Red on the flooring and pillars applied as plinths.  Other than that, roll on Christmas schemes we guess.

Harvey Nichols, London


Wow...!  Just wow, really.  If you haven't seen this installation then do try and get over to Knightsbridge and experience it for yourself, particularly at night-time.  This installation sparkles.....a lot..!  This is first Christmas scheme for the season and slightly unusual to see one this soon in the year but then again we suspect just about every retailer needs to squeeze every penny out of it given the global financial situation / cost of living....etc....etc.  We have put the full run on our Instagram account too if you want to have a closer look at these windows.

You really do have to experience the beauty of this colour in real life rather than an image as it glows across the street here in Knightsbridge.  While this brand is not normally associated with great Visual Merchandising (it just doesn't seem to be their thing) they have in this case at least added one prop but the bright Pink products with the Bright Pink background looks magnificent.

Dior, London

Even luxury brands appear to be tightening their belts when it comes to the amount of details that they are implementing into their schemes.  This brand and it's simply papered backdrop is one such example.  It may be that with Christmas schemes pending that the bulk of the budget is being saved for that launch although we can only guess.  Anyway, we do love the classic styles from Dior although we are picking up on a slight Mary Poppins vibe.

We adore this brands' visual merchandising although they can tend to either go for it with a full on scheme, narrative, props and so on and then the next minute they only have a large format graphic with a few products.  Maybe this is their strategy?  (we cant imagine its a budgeting issue).  Anyway, we love this bar concept, the T Club complete with prop bar and bottles on the top shelves in repetition format.

As promised we are including a snapshot of some of the main windows at this fantastic store.  This stunning installation includes a whole range of narratives for the current season and just look at how gorgeous these are.  You might notice that there is no product in sight.  Thats confidence for you.  We particularly love the abstract nature of this scheme as the team appear to have adopted a kind of Fine Art approach.  We love it.

Armani Exchange, London

We had a bit of a deja vu moment with this scheme as we were sure we've seen this installation before (or at least the props).  We did initially think that this was something Hugo Boss had done (using nuts and bolts) although it transpires that we had actually seen this scheme in Milan earlier this year.  In this climate there is no shame of course in reusing schemes and many brands are doing it although many do make changes to their props before they reuse them.

Chanel, London

It is quite difficult to know what to say about this scheme as there is so little of it.  It almost appears as if the brand have moved out.  This is however an interesting strategy and they have included so few products in this scheme and just a few mannequins albeit beautifully dressed.  There is one small detail which is the very light markings on the walls and floors which appear to be a nod to the craftsmanship and stitching of the product perhaps?

While we're not big fans of bling ourselves we really do admire how this brand presents itself.  Their latest campaign is very glossy and highly polished with wonderful photography and the products look superb.  The current scheme, looks like it is product-led although we think this is more of a nod to their collections rather than having a direct connection.  Anyway, great production has gone into this scheme.
