Reiss, London

Only a few hangover memories went through Terrys mind the day after the secret night time window party and how trying to fart the tune to 'We wish you a Merry Christmas' had perhaps not been such a good idea afterall.

Gucci, London

We're keeping our fingers crossed that this isn't the Christmas scheme for this lux brand.  We're not big fans of motifs and Gold stars for Christmas has just tipped us over the edge.  We're not sure why this brand have re-produced something that we have seen countless times from the 'innovators to the laggards' the world over, year in year out.  Oh dear, run out of ideas Gucci?

Nicole Farhi, London

If you haven't seen the latest scheme at Nicole Farhi, do pop down to Conduit st. and take a look.  Besides their incredible fairly new site and only the third scheme in these windows, which quite honestly are incredibly difficult to work with, the guys here really have made this space their own.   We've been following them for a while now and they just get better and better.

Fortnum and Mason, London

Were you at the launch of the Fortnum and Mason window scheme last night?  No?, well you really did miss a corker of an evening.  As we have come to expect and anticipate, the scheme here at Her Maj's grocer is quite superb so you wont be disappointed if you do manage to view the spectacle for yourself - and you really must.  Don't limit yourself to just the windows however as this scheme flows right through the store.  Burlesque dancers in suspended illuminated cages hang throughout the atrium.  We can only marvel at  how they got them there..!  But anyway, do go and have a look at this wonderfully glitzy scheme and marvel at the level of detail that these guys go to.  If you want to know 'how its all done' and how to handle product with attention to detail, as always go and have a look at Fortnum's windows.

Zara, London

Zara is looking so exciting right now (at least in London's West End)  Here, the guys really understand 'old school' humour of window display, rather than the rather ubiquitous Visual Merchandising.  It is so refreshing to see fun schemes in global multiples, even if its not what the brand is about ultimately.  Anyway, here's a little breath of fresh air blowing out there on Oxford Street.

Harvey Nichols, London

We do love what the guys at Harvey Nichols do, and they are certainly one of the world leaders in Visual Merchandising in conjunction with Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, Selfridges and so on.  What these (and Selfridges highlight...and) we seem to be missing around town right now are the nuances and humour - waspish and cruel (as in Barneys in New York) or otherwise seems to be missing just about everywhere - but these guys are always cool.  Here at the former 'Chicken-Royale-residence-of-the-hairy-Qween-of-slops' we see ever better and ever more clever solutions to ever more difficult issues of that Christmas scheme - these guys always seem to come up with the goods.  Where do these guys get their inspiration from and perpetual humour, eh?

French Connection, London

We've been keeping a cursory eye on what this brand has been doing for quite some time.  We have to say, that they are trying so incredibly hard to get this brand back on the rails which is massively admirable and we're 100% behind you guys and willing you on.  We did read this scheme initially as 'I am The Christmas Widow' rather than 'Window' which made us chuckle, however, this really does look wonderfully avant garde and great to see on the high street.  However, the problem, we guess, is not with the presentation or the concept behind it, but with the merchandise itself?  We'd love to shop here, but the competition is is so fierce on the high street and Zara is just doing it so much better.  In store, we love the illuminated fixtures, but the merchandise is just not right at the price its being sold for.  What do you think?

Louis Vuitton, London

The scheme at LV along Sloane street was work in progress as we passed by, although we thought we would give you a sneak preview of whats to come......wonderful as ever...!

On the streets, London

Of course?

Puma, London

We quite like what the guys at Puma are doing right now - not that it really matters what we think anyway, does it?  With references to the Nostalgia trend the scheme here is absolutely there, although, the scheme is perhaps just a little too 'plastic' for us.  Petrol pumps and fire hydrants feature here, although just a little in isolation of everything else.  We've seen something similar at 'Guess' recently with references to Route 66 and although we're not fans of the brand itself, we have to admit they did do it better.  Anyway, from the outside, this store along Carnaby st. looks rather cool anyway.

Gola, London

This  tiny Gola store along Carnaby street really does do some fun and witty schemes.  For such a small space these guys always seem to really make an effort and try to produce something rather interesting.  The lighting is a little dodgy however and we wish they could change it as its so bright that its almost impossible to take a decent shot of their schemes.  But, anyway, they always amuse us and we keep coming back to see what they are doing so job well done we think.

Liberty, London

As we write the scheme at Liberty is changing from their National Treasures theme to Christmas.  However, we managed to capture this little treasure before it changed and its references to the Nostalgic theme that we are beginning to see around town right now.  There are a lot of schemes referencing Liberty fabrics so its far from ironic that the store where it all came from is doing the same.  Anyway, here's part of the scheme in case you missed it.

Juicy Couture, London

Is it us or have 'Juicy' run out of juice?  These guys seemed to really take London by storm a short while ago and goodness knows their NYC store looks incredible.  However, the brand here seems to have become a bit of a long forgotten memory, don't you think?  Whats going on guys?  You've done some great stuff in the past but it seems you've faded into the background.  With such a tiny store in 'Couture-land' being in between 'Stella' and 'DVF' and just a stones throw from Margiela maybe this is the wrong place for you?  Have a look at the queues outside Topshop and this will give you an indication of where you need to be?
