Chanel, Madamoiselle Prive, London

If you haven't seen the Chanel, Madamoiselle Prive exhibition yet then here's a snapshot for you.  Well, actually this is it (nearly).  We were quite excited to get a visit to see this in the diary last week although possibly, after being spoiled by the recent Hermes and Louis Vuitton exhibitions this one sadly lacked just about anything interesting.  This is such a shame as clearly a lot of money has been thrown at this installation and ironically, for a change the windows actually look quite good (video below) and lead you to the exhibition quite nicely.  Its only saving grace were the giant vats of coloured liquid of Wonka-style proportions (video below) which open quite dramatically and intermittently with puffs of dry ice.  Nice idea but we guess our expectations are high and this exhibition would have been worth a miss.  Some information during the exhibition would have been helpful.

Coach, London

We did see this scheme a while ago on social media but only just had the opportunity to include it now.  Coach seem to be the master of amazing props at the moment (remember the Gorilla hands recently?)  Here we have what think is the Brooklyn Bridge (correct us if we are wrong) in a faux perspective view; we have spotted a few of these types of perspectives recently around town at Oasis and Hackett so there is some collective thinking here.  We did give the Coach site a cursory glance but  haven't yet made the connection between their current campaign and this scheme although we're sure that there is some joined up thinking here somewhere.  You can see this scheme in a little more detail in our video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMciO0-KIoQ

Pull and Bear, London

Pull and Bear really do some great schemes, at least at their store along Oxford Street.  With their rotating mannequins and a kind of 80's Pac-man-style digital backdrop this scheme really does draw people in.  Fortunately we were able to make a quick video for you to appreciate the kind of movement which is lost in a still image so that you can view the impact that this scheme has.  No doubt this installation cost a mighty pretty penny and then some but these kinds of schemes really do push the boundaries of what is Visual Merchandising or at least what it can be if we invest enough.  You see our video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Qe-PEfNpvo

Corneliani, London

We often pass by this store along Bond street, although we rarely stop and examine what they do.  However, clearly someone has gripped this little puppy of a brand by the throat and shaken it up a bit and how refreshing.  How cool are these giant hand props.  In their secondary window are a series of bust forms which demonstrate the layers and craftsmanship which goes on behind the product which you can view in our video here.  Great to see this brand finally looking so interesting.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF981eclOlI

Diptyque, London

Following what appears to be the Totem trend which we have mentioned over the passed few months Diptyque of course looks as always perfectly delicious.  We have shown you this trend beginning at brands such as Louis Vuitton during the Summer time so it will be interesting to see how or if this trend trickles down to the mid-range retailers over the coming months.  You can check out our video here anyway to get a better overview of this scheme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iehck3hSvN4

The creative team at Millington Associates have recently collaborated with the  Danish Silversmith and watch brand Georg Jensen in the recent opening of the brands' new boutique within the village at London's Westfield in West London.  These enormous light boxes overlooking the main entrance to this amazing mall  are dominated with the Monarch and Karner Butterflies which are central to their new jewellery collection which has been designed by the Australian sculptor and Artist John Askill.  If you happen to be in Westfield then do look out for this fantastic new edition to their luxury brand collective.

Hackett, London

Launching their Modern Country Campaign the windows at Hackett as always are gleaming.  We're actually quite amazed how much they manage to get so much into what is a relatively small space, but they do.  This scheme consists of custom made wooden panels and foliage to create this dynamic perspective.

Double RL, London

If you happen to be in NYC then do go and look at the Double RL store along West Broadway as it really is quite a spectacle.  The store staff are mean in allowing you to take images but then we never worry about these kinds of things and it is a treat to go and experience anyway.  We're not sure if the London store compares to its sister store in NYC but the windows are interesting anyway with a huge assortment of vintage props.

Gant, London

A very simple scheme here at Gant right now showing their AW15 merchandise.  Its very difficult to comment much on this scheme apart from its wintery tones although it does look quite striking from across the street with its weathered piles (as in posts not as in haemorrhoids of course) of varying sizes.  Check out our video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OrbaJx9L2Y

Anthropologie, London

As regular readers with know, we do like to include Anthropologie whenever we can as their aesthetic really shouts creativity.  Repetition of these dipped pieces of Bamboo fill this window space at their store along Regent street and as always, its a real treat to view and experience.  Check out of video to get and all over view of this incredible space.

Simone Rocha, London

We've never noticed this brand before now so it could be a great new find.  We were initially drawn in because this enormous installation in the windows which we are guessing is product-led?  We will drop by on occasion but do check out her website as she does have a very interesting bio on her website and her merchandise is bought by some of the best of the best in the fashion industry.

Karl Lagerfeld, London

As usual, a perfectly executed scheme at Lagerfeld along Regent street.  We are yet to actually go inside this store although we're not enormous fans of Kitty related merchandise but then we are guessing this is targeting the tourist market who seem to love this stuff.  Here we have repetition of radiating forms in a gravitational format.  Check out our video to get a better overview of this scheme
