Etro, London
This is such a highly illuminated window that even the mannequins appear in shadow. We included the last scheme from this brand here recently which was quite a departure from their usual style where they come much further forward towards the fenestration and boxed everything in. We thought that this was going to be their style from that point onwards however it seems to have been ditched in favour of keeping their closed backed window space. Relief.

How lovely is this scheme, eh..! There is something really romantic and nostalgic about movable type and a great reference to halcyon days (although of course they never really existed did they?). In such a large format as these they make quite the statement and what a pleasure to see what we think is just one store make such a great effort with their visual merchandising.

We were trying to work out this scheme recently as on the one hand we have the previous scheme (left side) with the digital sky/clouds and on the other (right side) their latest scheme. We're guessing that the team here were half way through installation when we passed perhaps? Anyway, with a huge nod to the glamorous 70's Disco scene is this brand right now. Although it is a large format graphic, it is at least a creative one and we love the illuminated mouth.

VM & Display Awards, London, 2022
If you were not here last night then you really did miss a treat. Hosted this year by the super talented Paul Zerdin at the Leonardo St. Pauls Hotel (literally next to St. Pauls Cathedral - incredible). It's been quite some time since we were all able to come together as an industry which made it even more exciting to meet a lot of new faces and a say hello to slightly more craggy but familiar ones. There was of course an opportunity to think momentarily and reflect on the ones we've also lost since we last came together. A huge congratulations to all of the winners at the VM and Display Awards, 2022....!

Dior, London
With the launch of their SS22 collections this brand have a corker of a scheme in place at their store along Bond street. Linked very closely to their catwalk show which we have to mention is a complete joy to watch so we have put the link below so that you can check it out. This scheme will then make sense to you. https://www.dior.com/en_gb/womens-fashion/ready-to-wear-shows/spring-summer-2022-ready-to-wear-show

This is probably not the most exciting scheme we've seen from this brand although it is still early-ish in the retail calendar and we're sure that there are a lot more interesting installations to come. At the moment a bit of symmetry as a window dynamic, graphics forming the backdrop with of course their delicious products is the latest scheme from this brand right now.

Prada, London
This brand seem to go through phases of, on the one hand, some very creative windows, and then on the other, to ones which are very basic, albeit of course, sophisticated. We're not fans of large format graphics as they are a cheap and quite a lazy option although at least this brand have the product actually worn in the graphics which is quite a find out there. Hopefully there are more interesting schemes on the horizon.

Moschino, London
Baby toys? Are we actually seeing Baby Toys in a luxury brand? We have seen some quite interesting schemes recently from this brand although they have slid right back down to the bottom of the VM rung for us at least. Clearly a lot of money has been spent on the scheme although it might just have been filed as a what-not-to-do example.

And they're back. We were a little concerned recently that the brand had gone all mid-range on us with their Graphics but here we have an impressive totem pole-style installation of some very interesting objects. We don't know what the narrative is here and it doesn't really matter, we just want to see wonderful things in beautiful windows. Great job guys.

It looks like days out and holidays must just be around the corner. We love the simplicity of this scheme and great to see how they have stripped back the narrative and it still all makes sense. No easy task for sure. And, the simpler the scheme, the harder it can be to make it look so good as you have no where to hide. Anyway, wonderful work but time to rotate those mannequins we reckon.
