Ralph Lauren, London


Ralph Lauren seem to be on a bit of an apartment theme recently, albeit representing the kinds of places none, or at least so few of us will ever live in.  Thats aspiration for you.  Naturally, as we would expect the presentation is super slick and so painfully executed that who could help but drool over what these guys do?  In a period of austerity and uncertain times here in the UK, these kinds of spaces and places do have a certain vulgarity about them or are they a beacon of hope?  We guess the latter.

Coach, London


We spotted this scheme at Coach some time ago although it seems to have slipped under our radar here for a while.  We're guessing this scheme is influenced by one of their new products, Rogue 36 (handbag in Suede with Whiplash detail no less, or at least one product from this collection).  Whatever the influence, some great prop Cacti in what appear at least to be produced in Leather.

Dolce and Gabbana, London


One of the few brands using recognizable props (as opposed to an abstract scheme) is Dolce and Gabbana right now.  We're guessing that the references here are SS17 although who knows for sure.  Oars and rubber rings form the backdrop to the product here at their store along Bond street.  There must be a warehouse out there somewhere that supplies this kind of stuff as we do seem to find these kinds of props creeping into suit-type brands at this time of year although of course the quality of these is superb.

Longchamp, London


There's nothing like a bit of metallic to 'lift' a scheme.  Strangely we've noticed that nearly everyone 'out there' on the high street have adopted quite abstract schemes right now which is a bit a shame as these kinds of schemes are quite difficult to describe beyond the obvious.  Still, we have a quality scheme and we love the use of Copper here.

Moncler, London


One of favourite brands for props usually is Moncler.  This is not our favourite scheme ever (not that it matters what we think) from this brand as we usually gasp with delight at their installations although we do love the neon Hockney-esque water backdrop which drew us in.  We miss the fun and narratives out there on the high street but we guess this promotes the season perfectly well.

Burberry, London


With a brand that is so global it is incredibly difficult and of course expensive to install the same scheme across all of the stores and at the same level.  Burberry seem to be applying a quite simple approach to their installations currently and although this is not the most exciting thing we have ever seen it is of course superbly produced.  Ladders in a multitude of colours with a solid colour paneled backdrop is the scheme right now.  A slightly austere installation although perhaps it is reflecting the times ahead.

Fenwick, London


Its not very often we find retailers' schemes coming out of their windows onto the high street here in London but it is always fantastic to view when we do spot them.  Fenwick right now have wonderfully illustrated cut out scheme to launch their Summer season at their Bond street store with a multitude of flora decorating the outside of the space.  Really great to see this building so beautifully decorated here in the centre of it all and if you have the opportunity to see this in person then look out for that spinning teacup..!

John Lewis, London

Working with the illustrator John Thurlby and the fantastic team at John Lewis the incredibly industrious guys at www.harlequin-design.com produced this exciting installation for the brand to launch their National Treasures campaign for their Oxford Street store.  With 143 individual characters and 22 moving parts across their run of windows this scheme makes a big statement.  Fortunately we have a quick video to share with you here to really appreciated this scheme beyond still images.

Whenever we feel the need for inspiration one of the places on our hit list is always Anthropologie.  We noticed that there was a big trend towards weaving at Salone in Milan recently and a lot of hanging chairs as in the image above, so clearly the brand are right on trend as always.

With references to their Climate Revolution campaign Vivienne Westwood is rocking what looks like a sustainable option for their windows along Conduit Street.  A wooden tree from which the products are placed fill the space here and we guess good on VW for her tireless campaigning to do whats right.

Liberty, London


If you are looking for some delicious products for the home then look no further than Liberty.  Their current scheme 'The Home of Liberty' highlights some of the many incredible products contained within this remarkable store; you will find it difficult to leave empty handed.  Mountains of products artfully placed within this installation will keep you looking at this scheme for quite some time.  The interior is like visiting a stately home with its crunchy flooring and wooden beams that you will forget that this store is right in the middle of town.

Hermes, London


There's nothing like a great scheme from Hermes and this brand is a gift that just keeps giving.  The latest installation almost like a mad professors laboratory with its wheels, propellers, aeroplane, car and ship in a brass finish all perfectly balanced throughout the scheme.  This is a static installation which still works perfectly well and we will keep you posted as usual when the schemes change.

Selfridges, London


Its been a while since we've had a look at Selfridges and this end of Oxford street.  The latest scheme,  'The Your House Campaign' features installations called The Ritual of Cleansing, Where I keep my collections, The Ritual of Conversation, My place to hide things, to name a few and of course everything has been so perfectly placed in an Artistically chaotic style.  This store is always worth a visit if you are in town as images just dont communicate the truly immersive experience of this brand.
