The last time we looked at this store the whole space had been emptied of merchandise so it was quite a relief to see that they are now back, open and in full swing.  Also, of course their latest scheme has been implemented and while we are not entirely sure what these shapes/forms are actually about it is at least great to see some visual stuff happening out there again.

Burberry, London

This brand recently launched their new window concept at their store along Bond street which of course is beautifully produced.  We always feel however that these kinds of tiles used in windows are a bit reminiscent of public toilets ourselves but of course in this context and the context of the times we are all currently facing this clinical vibe simply highlights the beauty of their products.

Isabel Marant, London

It has been such a pleasure to have been able to view all of the new window schemes over the past two weeks even in these troubled times.  We do have that awful feeling that we may be forced back into another lockdown here in London shortly although we will try to keep going as much as possible to bring you the latest in the schemes which are out there.  Here at this brand, their usual format of a piece of work from a Fine Artist accompanies their latest product.  Hopefully, when things get better they may look at their format which is probably ready for a refresh?

Etro, London

We go love an Etro window as they put a lot of effort and thought into their schemes although as we mentioned yesterday there are a lot of digital windows out there at the moment where much of the creativity and skill of the Visual Merchandiser is rather lost.  We've included a short video in this post as these types of schemes don't really come alive in a still image.

Dior, London

There is a lot of digital technology being implemented at the moment across a lot of brands out there.  Given the current circumstances however this shouldn't really be a surprise although we really do hope that this is not necessarily going to be the main option for brands moving forward.  Visual Merchandising skills and knowledge have been developed for over a century (well at least in its current recognisable form) and will sadly be lost if large format screens (as with printed graphics) become the norm.  Brands such as this really do invest in the visual and theatre of their windows and let's not just hope but continue to work towards this returning again shortly.

Ralph Lauren, London

As always this brands' windows look so beautiful with the application of shades Blue with some great props and of course some wonderful draping.  Gone for now are the references to glamorous interiors (the likes of which most of us will never experience, although thats aspiration for you) and in its place some gorgeous fluted planters (no doubt purchased from one of the markets around London) and probably reclaimed ladders, all painted in White.  Great from a sustainability perspective too.

Fendi, London

We are not entirely sure what this window is about at this wonderful brand along Bond street beyond describing it as a sofa at an angle placed on top of images of handbags which have been illuminated from behind.  Maybe we are looking for some hidden meaning?  Maybe is means nothing at all and we should just appreciate the spectacle of it all.

London is looking rather shabby around the edges at the moment in retail store windows, you know, like it's been through some kind of pandemic and lock down for several months or something.  Thankfully the luxury brands are keeping us going right now and of course as always this brand have recently installed their latest scheme in their usual amazing miniature style.

Longchamp, London

This brand always produces some interesting schemes although they do tend to be designed along the same lines each time, i.e. an abstract shaped prop in the centre of the window.  We guess its just their thing.  Naturally everything that they do is superbly produced although we can't help but find ourselves willing them to do something a bit more meaningful.

Max Mara, London

This is yet another very elegant installation from this brand and their store along Bond street.  Classical columns with a twist, quite literally, create the context for their latest scheme.  As always the mannequins are beautifully presented although they have had these in for some time now and perhaps its time for a change?

We cant quite remember if this brand have changed their window scheme recently as its been so long since we have wandered around the West End of London, however this super luxury brand is rocking the floral look right now with jewel coloured blocks in a symmetrical format.

We're seeing a lot of digital technology in retail store windows right now across the high street rather than a lot of propping which we guess is a result of the current pandemic.  It will be quite interesting to see if this continues although we do hope that the visual merchandisers skills won't be lost as a result.  While of course technology is useful we do hope that generations of visual merchandising skills and information wont be lost as a result.
