Bulgari, Milan

We're in Milan for a short while exploring the amazing delights of Salone and of course scouring the streets and shows for some really exciting new developments across this amazing city.  So, we're beginning with the incredible installation from Bulgari.  Attached to this installation is an amazing installation by the Artist Tomas Saraceno called Weaving the Cosmos; a darkened room with spider web installations.  If you have the opportunity to view this be aware that the room is completely Black so you will have to hold onto the walls in order navigate around the space.

Rain Room, Sharjah

In our search for new and exciting experiential moments we happened upon the Rain  Room in one of the other Emirates close to Dubai here in Sharjah.  We seem to remember this at the Barbican back in London a few years ago and of course the concept has been snapped up by the middle east where it barely rains.  Oddly the only others visiting here at the time were other Europeans (clearly craving some rain).  After being taken down to the space by a local guide who demonstrated how slow you need to move through the space we gave it a go ourselves.  Yes, we got wet, but as the heat outside of the space is so ferocious even at night time you soon dry off.

Louvre, Abu Dhabi

If there is one place in the world you must visit it has to be here (but go early before the bus loads of tourist arrive).  We made a very early morning visit in the name of visual research of course to the new Louvre outpost here in Abu Dhabi by the incredible Rem Koolhaas (remember the amazing Prada store in New York?).  Situated along the shoreline with crystal clear water and such warm weather this place is stunning.  Collections from old masters as well as some very historical pieces ranging from Ancient Egypt and Rome in conjunction with special collections have been beautifully curated within the interior of this building.  Oddly, it is a lot bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside.

Loro Piana, Dubai

We've included this brand a few times recently after they spent years under our radar.  They have however been producing and installing some quite interesting schemes.  Sadly what you cant view in a still image is that the circular forms (which have been created from a multitude of coloured strands) rotate against a rectangular backdrop (also created from coloured strands) which help to generate a kind of Kinetic Art work.

Georgio Armani, Dubai

Ever wondered what you could do with that inflated pillow packaging that arrives with a delivery?  Then look no further.  Obviously this is the posh version of it however repetition of these inflated forms have been used to create the back drop to the product at this brand right now.  Other than that there isn't a lot more that we can say however it does look quite impressive and of course beautifully executed in the 'flesh',

Dior, Dubai

What is difficult to see here in our images is that the large bee which forms the backdrop to the product here at Dior has been created from a coloured light bulbs (or lamps depending how technical you wish to be) complete with the a large format logo in vinyl placed on the fenestration.

Kenzo, Dubai

From what we are able to deduce this is a collection especially produced for the Dubai mall, called La Collection Momento 4.  While this is not something we ourselves would ever purchase, when you are in this country you realise that the locals (and so many tourists) love the brash and the bold and therefore it is clear who they are catering for.  Also included here is a special installation by Gary Card which appears to be a stack of very large Tomatoes really.

Bloomingdales, Dubai

Bloomingdales at the Dubai Mall have such enormous spaces to work with.  This is both enviable and probably a nightmare to fill.  However as usual the team here have delivered a fun narrative in the form of a beach scene complete with crabs carrying product and a multitude of mannequins.

Louis Vuitton, Abu Dhabi

As with the Fendi scheme which we included yesterday, this one at LV is another which we haven't come across before.  Very little product here has been included against what looks like coloured glass (we don't know for sure) in a radiating format.  Both the Fendi and the LV schemes were spotted at the Marina Mall.  This is not the most exciting city in the world (ultra conservative is not our thing) however we will share with you some of the delights from the Dubai Mall shortly.

Fendi, Abu Dhabi

We're touring the middle east this week and beginning in Abu Dhabi with this scheme from Fendi.  We haven't spotted this one previously although we are guessing that it is one of those out post stores as the main scheme in their larger spaces currently has a stack of perspex boxes which what appears to be mannequins trapped inside.

Moncler, London

We do love the windows at Moncler as they are such an amazingly creative brand and always look incredible.  We believe that the mannequins here are from on of the Window France collections with their digital technology applied to the face.  Clever use of mirrors in their scheme too.
