Nike House of Innovation, New York

While we are not big sport fans ourselves we really do admire this brand and the amazing experiences that they provide.  Whether its one of their regular monolithic stores (if monolithic stores can be 'regular') or this one, Nike House of Innovation which is just staggering.  We seem to remember that this store is in the place of the old Joe Fresh site (whatever happened to them, eh?) situated along 5th Avenue and regardless of whether you are a sports fan or not this store really has to be experienced.  Several floors of merchandise, carefully curated (obvs) and it seems that anything can be personalised or customised if you like that kind of thing.  Naturally it is incredibly busy here even first thing in the morning and queues form quite quickly around the block.  So, get there early if you want to experience the Nike House of Innovation.

Gucci, New York

There aren't many stores where you can sit and watch a large screen in luxury cinema seats while sipping a glass of wine but here at Gucci you can do just that.   This brand is looking incredible and if you have the chance to visit their Wooster street store here in New York then you really must.  Not only is the merchandise amazing but the experience itself is quite something and the team here are so helpful that is really does help to generate a memorable immersive journey through this visually stimulating commercial environment.

Google Hardware Store, New York

New York is so exciting at the moment with so many new finds around this amazing city.  Who even knew that Google had a store?  The Google hardware store sells all those products that you never knew you needed and the range is huge.  As ever this store is also filled with those all important selfie moment opportunities for your insta account too.  If you have the chance do swing by and experience this place.

Happy New Year 2019

We're taking a much needed day off today while we recover from our New Year's eve hangovers however we wish you a wonderful and happy 2019 wherever you are in the world and we will be back with you shortly.

D&G, New York

Through pure serendipity we came across this D&G store in SoHo here in NYC which we guess is one of their newest in town.  While we are not dedicated followers of this brand, what is quite amazing are the amount of differences across their stores as nearly all of them seem to have a different scheme.  Just look at this little beauty.  Filled to capacity with all things visual it really is quite mind blowing and we were fortunate to have a guided tour (well we think it was unless we were actually being escorted) across the various spaces over three floors; even the elevator has had the D&G treatment.  Thank you to the super friendly team here however who were very helpful in explaining the concept.

Claus Porto, New York

This brand was another delicious find on our travels around New York.  Claus Porto is a brand we had never come across previously and what an amazing store interior.  The products here range from colognes, soaps, cosmetics and so on and what is remarkable about this Portuguese brand is that it dates way back to 1887 so has a fantastic history behind it.  Check out the amazing packaging here also; we were very tempted to make a purchase based on the designs alone.

Casper Dreamery, New York

While this is the city that never sleeps, if you feel the need then you can pop along to the Casper Dreamery for a good old fashioned well sleep really.  What a great concept.  We're not quite sure who the clientele are who use this space but we guess if you need some time out to catch up on some much needed Zzzzz's, perhaps from noisy children or neighbours then this is the place for you.  Naturally we had to be quiet here in order not to disturb anyone who was using the space however not only can you  sleep but also try out the amazing Casper merchandise before you buy.  We cant wait for this brand to come to London.

Balenciaga, New York

Oddly this is a brand we have never included here before although we cant recall ever actually seeing any stores that they may have.  As they haven't produced anything particularly visual there really isn't much to say about it either although we do love the product and we guess its strong enough not to include any visual elements.

Phluid, New York

This store was quite an amazing find here in New York and wow how avant garde are they?  Phluid is the worlds first gender-free store (as indicated in the vinyl on the fenestration) and sells a whole range of fashion merchandise to appear to those of amongst you who are more, well fluid with your preferences.  This is such an interesting direction for retail as we have seen a few fashion collections which have been labelled Gender-less etc. although how incredible to see a new brand really drilling so deeply into what is happening trend-wise around the world.  A sign of things to come?

10 Corso Como, New York

It seems slightly odd to see this store here in New York, however in the newly developed (in terms of retail spaces moving in) Seaport district the 10 Corso Como store has a big presence.  Of course we're more familiar with their Milan store along, well, Corso Como and huge fans of the experience they provide thier.  Mountains of delicious goods fill the space here and some unusual things too.  With brands such as Colette in Paris now gone where else can you get that much desired retail fix?  Well there is of course Dover street market which has also opened here in NYC.  We will include shortly for you.

Flatiron Building, New York

We've selected this installation at the Flatiron Building here in the big Apple for our Christmas Day entry, called Drawing the Invisible.  The installation by the Artist Wendy Letven 'traces the points and lines of the New York City subways, warps and ripples seen in diagrams of space-time and the branching pattern of nerves in the human eye....she gives material form to these fragments of information and bits of visual language.'  We wish you all a restful and peaceful Christmas wherever you are reading this in the world.

Louis Vuitton, New York

Wow, now this a must have tree for the season.  Sadly this is only a prop although it is very impressive.  As we teeter on the big day itself this is one of the final Christmas-led schemes for this year; there's nothing worse than looking at Christmas stuff after the event itself, right?  As usual the brand have installed a superb quality installation, this is their store along 5th Avenue.
