We've selected this installation at the Flatiron Building here in the big Apple for our Christmas Day entry, called Drawing the Invisible.  The installation by the Artist Wendy Letven 'traces the points and lines of the New York City subways, warps and ripples seen in diagrams of space-time and the branching pattern of nerves in the human eye....she gives material form to these fragments of information and bits of visual language.'  We wish you all a restful and peaceful Christmas wherever you are reading this in the world.

Louis Vuitton, New York

Wow, now this a must have tree for the season.  Sadly this is only a prop although it is very impressive.  As we teeter on the big day itself this is one of the final Christmas-led schemes for this year; there's nothing worse than looking at Christmas stuff after the event itself, right?  As usual the brand have installed a superb quality installation, this is their store along 5th Avenue.

Prada, New York

Although this store is now quite old in retail terms it is still quite magnificent and well worth a visit.  Designed by the amazing Rem Koolhaas you have possibly come across it in multiple publications however they have installed some amazing elements such as this huge graphic wall and of course their current, although slightly odd, characters.  Prada invites is their latest offering where the brand have invited four celebrated creative minds to each work on a unique item.  Ranging from Ronan & Erwan Bouroullee, Konstantin Greie, Herzog and De Meuron, and Rem Koolhass, each worked with a simple brief creating an item using the Black Nylon fabric, the Prada icon.

Maje, New York

We've never seen this brand before however their use of these bright Yellow plastic seating in a repetition format drew us in.  It transpires that there are actually several of this brands' stores back in London although we have never actually seen any of them as far as we can recall.  Great to see this ready-to-wear women's brand looking so good though.

Macys, New York

Believing in the wonder of giving is Macys right now here in the Big Apple.  While we are not particularly gripped by these kinds of schemes they do what they do incredibly well and it certainly draws the crowds in as this was the closest we could get ourselves because of them.  We've never really understood the need for adults to revert back to being children however the brand is giving people what they want and they love it.

Helmut Lang, New York

There was a time when this brand were so cool it hurt although for quite some time now they seem to have faded slightly which is a shame although we are glad that they still have stores, at least here in New York anyway.  This is quite an austere scheme for this time of year and given that it's freezing here also at the moment doesn't really warm us and invite us in to take a closer look.

Tiffany, New York

This is an absolutely killer scheme at Tiffany right now and our particular favourite elements have to be the oven and the refrigerator.  What is also interesting about this installation is how they have come our of their window spaces at quite a low level (actually reachable, although not shown here).

Henri Bendel, New York

That New York skyline certainly gets a lot of mileage in windows each year.  The hand drawn element seems to be quite an influence across schemes this season as we've spotted it both at Anthropologie and Liberty back in London.  We have ventured slightly over the threshold of this store in their prime space although 5th Avenue although there wasn't really much visually included in store which would have drawn us in further.

Diesel, New York

We couldnt quite work out what these props are although they do look really interesting in the windows at Diesel right now.  With their foil back drop, Black coloured mannequins there is something slightly space age about this scheme however this is the seasonal offer from this usually irreverent brand.

Nars, New York

Nars have gone for a smashed window look this season complete with strap-line 'Spiked with colour, Studded with Style; OK then.  The font used on the main window is the kind we imagine would be used on a ransom note if we ever saw one (obvs.) however the scheme certainly makes a great impact.

Throughout the whole of 2018 this brand have been one of our top favourites for schemes as they really do produce and install such amazing quality work.  This is the latest installation at one of their NYC stores; its clearly amazing what you can do with a bit of Chenille, just look at these props, all deftly crafted, possibly by hand?

We're not sure how we feel about this brand ourselves, not that it actually matters, although we do love their seasonal scheme with the repetition of these toy robots, are they robots?  Used as a backdrop to their products the scheme is one of the more interesting ones we've spotted from this brand this year.

Sarah Jessica Parker, New York

Of course there would be a SJP store here in New York wouldn't there.  We're currently exploring the Seaport district and who knew this area was even here?  While there isn't a lot by way of retail therapy here (yet) we have no doubt that this area which in some ways is a little like Spitalfields in London (although by the river of course) with their Warehouse-style buildings surrounded by (at least in this case) skyscrapers will in due course rocket just like the Meatpacking district has.  It's no surprise of course that the SJP store contains shoes and handbags.   It is however an interestingly sophisticated and gentle environment.
