Anthropologie, London

We don't think we have ever seen so many references to Pride with rainbow flags in abundance all across town, in particular of course along the march route on Saturday.  This is a great thing naturally although part of us also wonders why?  While it is a great time to celebrate (at least in London, we're not sure its actually still that safe for everyone in the LGBT community living in all other UK cities or countries) and fantastic to have the support of just about every global brand on the high street....even Natwest got in on the act.  However, now that being Gay, Lesbian, Trans gender and so on has a more 'acceptable' face we can't help sending a message back to retailers.....Where were you when we actually needed you??  In the meantime, thank you for the support although perhaps lets get the message out there, that our brothers and sisters in places like Chechnya, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria....there's a long list.....homosexuality is still punishable with the death penalty or people are tortured?  Put that in your windows and we will sit up and celebrate more with you.

Tods, London

Another amazing brand celebrating the 250 years of the Royal Academy is Tods right now.  What look like references to African Art which has been adapted to carry their fantastic products, this brand is certainly rocking the look at the bottom end of Bond street.

Clarks, London

Its that time of year again and so incredible to see so many retailers celebrating this amazing event all across London.  Pride flags are everywhere right now with freedom flag colours draped, hung, stuck....graphics, vinyls...you name it.  Clarks is always one of our favourite places for schemes and their Regent street store in particular.  This rainbow garland created from 7,500 print and laser cut words were used to generate this rainbow garland, designed and installed by the team at Clarks in conjunction with those lovely guys at www.harlequin-design.com  We're sure this will be appreciated by the marchers on route either dancing, shimmering or just plain old celebrating passed here today.

Miller Harris, London

We met the guys from this brand recently at their pop-up in Spitalfields (which we included here) and what a great bunch they are too.  They have an amazing range of fragrances which we highly recommend you explore and thankfully at least one other brand in this new extension at Westfield in West London has something interesting in their windows too.

Typo, London

We thought that we would go and check out the new Westfield extension this week in search of anything new and exciting and this was one of the few brands that popped out.  It seems that most brands have moved to the newly extended 'bit' (or in the process of moving) from the main drag and this was the only one we found which was new and exciting.  OK, there are three things in windows which always make us buttock-clench and references to Disney is one of them (the other two are glitter and fur).  However, great land-of-the-giants props above the product here and great to find something new out there.

Hans Boodt, Netherlands

Right on trend and very timely this part of the season with the World thingy going on (will it be over soon?) and Enguuurland giving a game more attention than world events, pubs over flowing and dreadful stereo-types reinforced.  Still, thankfully, in the very civilised Netherlands, the international mannequin designer and producer, www.hansboodtmannequins.com  have recently launched their amazing new sports showroom / collection with more than 40+ sports mannequins.  Thank goodness for the finer things in life......just look at these incredible figures.

Louis Vuitton, London

You know it must be hot here in London when you spot several elderly women not wearing cardigans, hats and coats and we spend all day comparing the daily temperature to 'when records began'.  Still, here's a scheme which sadly is not actually tapping into this quite unseasonal London weather but clearly has its finger on the pulse right now anyway.  In celebration of 150 Year of the Royal Academy LV of course like all the brands along the luxury 800m of Bond street are including this phenomenal celebration with this installation of solar power panels in a repetition format.

Hermes, London

We recently heard that there is a CO2 shortage at the moment due to factories across Europe simultaneously closing down for Summer maintenance, so no fizzy drinks or carbonated water.....first world problems eh.....but still, at least we can enjoy the delights that this brand offer in their latest installation.  Hermes have done it again with a corker of a scheme at their store along Bond street.  Product on propellers, gorgeous scarves perfectly hung from windscreen wipers and animated vacuum cleaners.  In the meantime.....be safe and don't forget to carry your CO2 free drinks with you while travelling around London, not necessarily to drink, just pour over people who haven't put deodorant on today.

Ralph Lauren, London

Gosh how quickly does this event whip around.  The period of back-hands, break points, advantages, Aces, faults, nets and very expensive strawberries will soon be upon us and we've barely got Enguurland....playing, well who cares....out of the way.  Naturally, superb product as always and a great installation from this monolithic brand.

Dolce and Gabbana, London

Handbags at dawn we had heard of but handbags on drones is a new one for us, who would've thought, eh?  We've never been fans of this brands' products particularly although if you ever feel the need to dress like Grayson Perry's alter ego 'Claire' then here ya go.  Incidentally we do love Grayson Perry.  With out-sized flora and scarily large bees and butterflies of land-of-the-giants proportions this scheme certainly makes a statement.

Moncler, London

If there's one brands' windows on the high street that has 'BDE' (best to google that) then its this one and there's nothing better than viewing some great windows or otherwise being glued to the digital fibbing box and watching England playing....well however really.  Of course with late night light here in the centre of it all proving to be a curse in capturing the best of the best in retail store windows in conjunction with the heat (dont even ask about travelling on the tube which is driving everyone to distraction) there's nothing better than perusing up and down this capsule of luxury that is Bond street.  (Incidentally, it looks like the amazing Frink sculpture, Horse and Rider has been moved from its old site at the southern end of Dover street and placed outside RL).   With clever use of mirrors and well, this box-like structure, which we know is distorted in our image....damn you daylight....reveals tiny figures with each box lighting up in turn.

Fortnum and Mason, London

We noticed this scheme a few weeks' ago but didn't get around to capturing it until now.  We do love a bit of 'olde skool' in windows and they dont come much finer than this.  Highlighting some of their departments / products, ranging from Champagne, Smoked Fish, Cheese, Charcuterie (a Char-what?...its French ya know) as always, gorgeous products, perfect installation and a first (we guess?) from the latest VM team here since the lovely Mr. Symes left the building.  We miss you Mr. Symes, although they did a great job didn't they.
