Starstyling, Berlin

Starstyling is one of those places we love to peruse on any visit to Berlin.  Apparently, the "crux of Starstyling's world is to play with timeless classics, twisting them around, splashing colour on them and topping them with a dose of humour".  That just about sums up this incredible store and a must see on a visit to this vibrant city.

Bless, Berlin

If you havent been to Bless then you havent lived.  Hidden behind this facade and up multiple floors to this incredible apartment is one of the coolest places on the planet.  From the artistically wearable to the downright bizarre this place is a haven from the hustle and bustle of the streets below and clearly only meant for the ones in the know.   If you happen to be in Berlin do make an appointment to experience the still life drama of this space.

Topshop, Miami

This brand are certainly expanding across the world and of course always look so cool.  In celebration of the recent Gay Pride, a multi coloured confetti-style backdrop was installed in conjunction with the strapline "Happy Pride".  We're now leaving Miami for the coolness of Berlin in search of the latest installations from one of the most exciting and innovative cities of Europe.  Watch this space...!

Mont Blanc, Miami

Mont Blanc are not the first on our list for Visual Merchandising although this store at Aventura here in Miami did make us stop and take a closer look.  This type of product is so incredibly difficult to show well (given its size in relation to the window space) however with their tiny cut out landscape narrative complete with biplane is a corker.

Nordstrom, Miami

While this isn't the most exciting department store in the world they do have some great windows; these were the only ones that we could find however.  Referencing SS18 we guess with their giant seeded dandelions the scheme does have impact although we couldn't find any references to the scheme throughout the store.  That said the environment wasn't particularly enticing and we left quite quickly as there is so much else to see while we're here.

Fendi, Miami

We love this brands flagship stores although sadly the ones much further down the chain just dont seem to receive the same amount of love that their main ones do.  With the use of these quite beautifully produced prints of flora this isn't the worst scheme we have seen although this part of Miami seems to be dying a very slow death.

Escada, Miami

We cant recall including this brand previously although they dont tend to be big on Visual Merchandising which is probably why.  Here at Bal Harbor their latest installation uses the usual plinths to show the product (ok, its not very exciting although we love the colour).

Chanel, Miami

As we would expect, the Chanel scheme we recently included back in London threads through the brand across the world.  Well, versions of it at least.  Here at Bal Harbor the store did have the additional neon writing which we hadn't seen before although of course, clearly as this store is further down the chain of priority the brand have used bust forms instead of their usual stock mannequins.

Louis Vuitton, Miami

A visit to the Aventura Mall is always on our list when we visit Miami and of course a peruse of the luxury brands here.  We havent seen this scheme at Louis Vuitton back in London although it may well have been installed at the Sloane street site rather than the more glamorous Maison along Bond street.  We aren't quite sure what these props are however, although they do appear to reference some kind of flora.

Brunello Cucinelli, Miami

Whenever we visit Miami we always go to check out Bal Harbor for the luxury brands.  As the space is only semi-covered it is difficult to capture the schemes here with such bright sunlight.  At Brunello Cucinelli which we often include when we are in London or New York the schemes are always perfectly installed.  We found references to the suspended chairs back in Milan at Salone last year so its interesting to see these threading through to store windows and of course everything else is seasonally produced.

Anthropologie, Miami

We do love a great Anthropologie store although we guess as with any other retailer the priority for large doses of energy in their Visual Merchandising schemes remains with the stores more centrally placed.  This is a shame of course as this brand usually oozes creativity and while this store is within a significant city it clearly is not at the top of the brands list for lavishing lots of love on.  Still, the product is great although we do love the experience of their stores more.

Museum of Ice Cream, Miami

In the ferocious heat of Miami, well we are Brits abroad after all, what better way to cool down than a visit to the Museum of Ice Cream and an Instagramers dream.  Sadly this pop-up space will be closing shortly (May 13th)  however you can visit some of their other sites here in the U.S.   We just about managed to squeeze in at the last minute and what an amazing and fun experience.  From the Sprinkle pool, to the Jungle experience, Bunns shake, Pop and many more this has to be on your list of places to experience.  Taster ice creams and frozen bananas dipped in Chocolate along the way, who could resist?
