Dylans Candy Bar, Miami

What do you buy a child that has everything, well, their own Candy Store of course.  We had heard of this brand via an online search, and in particular their store in New York, however what we hadn't realised was that there is also one in Miami.  Begun by Dylan Lauren (recognise the last name?) this store is actually quite good fun if you love this kind of stuff.  Complete with its own Candy bar, personalisation and all sorts of fun 'bits' this was quite a cool find.  This week we will be showing you some of our highlights from this South East Coast US city; some surprisingly good places too.

Purdey, London

This was a great surprise find right at the bottom of Mount street here in the centre of it all.  We've never included Purdey here, actually we never knew they existed until now as they werent actually on our VM radar; well how often do you go a huntin' and a shootin' right?  But what a great find.  Having been around for 200 years we would of course expect them to get things right and wow do they.  Just look at this scheme with their fantastic (almost) life-sized train and and of course a narrative across the 'run' of windows which reflects a lifestyle that most of us will probably never have.  Still, there is clearly still a market for this stuff and their longevity is testament to the quality of their products.  Just think 'Downton' and you'll get the gist.

We included this brand recently and their amazing collaboration with www.dfrost.com who seem to be rocking the European (and beyond) market right now in Visual Merchandising and what wonderful quality schemes they install too.  This slick presentation of ampoules has been created for Mein Schiff Babor Spa (this sounds like a place we want to visit).  The product has been presented in the form of a wave which sparkles in all of the colours of the ampoule range - delicious.

If you haven't been to visit the VM & Display Show, 2018 here in London then you are missing a treat.  You only have today to get yourself over to the Business Design Centre (nearest tube Angel) to view the latest selection from our fantastic industry suppliers.  There is huge amount to see so do save some time to spend here; we've just included some of our favourite bits to show you although there is so much more, from Graphics to Props, Mannequins to Decorations and old friends to catch up with....the list goes on.

Proportion>London, London

We're slightly embarrassed that we were first though the door this morning to view the incredible collaboration between www.proportionlondon.com and www.blacksvisual.com  We have long since recognised that collaborations really do invigorate our industry (we've shown you lots of examples on the high street) so it was great to view these two amazing brands coming together to produce such a quality installation and demonstrate a completely new direction.   Who knew that fashion mannequins could be used with both homeware and lifestyle products?  If you are fortunate to gain access here to the amazing showroom in Spitalfields (and they are most welcoming) do spend some time looking for those tiny details which can go go unnoticed in a fleeting visit - truly delicious.

Ted Baker, London

Ted Baker always produce great fun window schemes although this stores windows are often difficult to capture as there is a bus stop right outside and crowds of people waiting and hanging around.  Anyway, with their Colour by Numbers installation which include fly fishing hooks (although we dont know why?) this is one is still a corker.

Hackett, London

We love what this brand does particularly as menswear is such a difficult product to make interesting without it looking either feminine or alienating, and yet as always Hackett produce both interesting and masculine schemes every time - no easy task for sure.  With their 'Great British Stripe' strap line, featuring, well you guessed it, stripes, in tandem with fluted columns this brand continue to be appreciated for spending on great quality schemes at their Regent street site.

Michael Kors, London

Clearly the Summer season is in full swing and interestingly we're seeing the appearance of surf boards across a range of brands out there at the moment (remember Tods installation a few weeks' ago?).  Anyway, here used as both a shelf for their product set against a sea scene as well as placed in a vertical asymmetric format this brand is looking great.

Tory Burch, London

This is one of the best schemes we've seen from this brand and quite different from their store along Bond street.  These studio-style installation always look so interesting as they communicate the process behind the product production which we find fascinating.  The "Hicks Remix: Spring 2018" which is "an explosion of colour and print inspired by David Hicks" is so much more engaging than the usual abstract installations which we see so often at this brand stores.
