Pas de Calais, New York

This is another discovery for us here in New York.  Just check out that ceiling..!  Pas de Calais is a Japanese brand who's aesthetic we adore.  The merchandise is of course beautifully produced as one would expect.  With only a few stores (NYC, Paris and Tokyo) this one place to check out before they become really big although it is also worth scanning across their website too.  We believe that some of their collection is available in stores such as Liberty, London but best to check this out for yourself.

Calvin Klein, New York

We included the window scheme from this brand before the seasonal holidays although we wanted to share this incredible interior space too.  While we are not a fan of the colour Yellow (there's probably a very posh name for this particular shade) although it does make an incredibly bold statement.  Complete with scaffolding and all sorts of textured materials this is an incredibly immersive experience.

Lie Sangbong, New York

We're back in New York for a few days so that we can bring you some of the delights which don't have anything to do with Christmas (there's nothing worse than showing Christmas schemes after the event has happened, right?).  Here in the Meatpacking district is the Lie Sangbong store.  This is yet another discovery for us although the South Korean designer is clearly very well known within the Fashion industry and we were drawn in of course by the simple yet impactful window scheme.  This is a relatively small store although with their bust forms in a gravitational format suspended from these coloured cables it certainly does make a statement.

Bloomingdales, Dubai

In our final entry of 2017 we just wanted to slip in this scheme from Bloomingdales before we move on from this incredible country.  We sadly missed the New York installation as we were in town a little too early to see their scheme but as always, the magic and glamour of this time of year is oozing from their windows.  'Glow What Fun' is the strap line here and what we have forgotten to mention is that we have spotted an awful lot of Ferris Wheels this season here in Dubai being used in schemes across the malls.

Louis Vuitton Time Capsule, Dubai

This was a gem-of-a-find here in Dubai; The LV Time Capsule.  We recently saw the brands exhibition back in New York which we included recently for you although we hadn't anticipated finding this.  In the heart of the Dubai Mall is this installation and unlike the New York exhibition it was thankfully completely empty when we visited.  Showcasing a handpicked selection of objects and documents from their archives (wouldn't you just love to see what they have in there..!) the collection here covers over 160 years.  This temporary space includes four aspects of the House: the Codes of the brand, Journeys around the World, Elegance and Beauty in Motion.  An amazing find.

Christian Louboutin, Dubai

This schemes at Louboutin always have such an energy about them although the shapes and forms here are slightly mystifying us?  There are of course large elements of lighting on the floor among the many stacked boxes although the props are not particularly recognisable to us?  Maybe the brand are having an abstract holiday period moment, after all its no easy task implementing schemes in this part of the world where you want to appeal to the passing international footfall but don't want to upset the locals.

Loewe, Dubai

This is another slightly oddly placed store although as always they make an effort which is very much appreciated.  There is a tiny strap line at the bottom of the window here, William Morris meets Punk. Of course everything is beautifully produced although it seems so strange to see references to an iconic and historical designer such as Morris and the sub-culture Punk.  The Morris references are clearly evidenced although we dont quite understand the references to Punk?  Do you?

Hermes, Dubai

Its seems that the world over this brand can do no wrong and yet again we have another corker-of-a-scheme.  With its Parisian references in Pastel shades the props here are as always so superbly produced.  Its also worth mentioning that this is also quite an odd store as it is sat right in the middle of the mall rather than among the other luxury fashion brands in the 'drum' and always appears as a kind of 'pop-up' space; it isn't but it does seem strangely placed.

Cartier, Dubai

After weeks of cold weather its such a pleasure to feel the warmth on our faces again and this week we are exploring the delights of the Dubai Malls.  There isn't much we haven't shown you already either in London or New York so our entries are slightly limited to this week only.  As this seasonal period is rather underplayed there is not a lot of holiday cheer going on however one brand we haven't included for a while is Cartier.  Superb props as always and as we also find at Tiffany, all in miniature.

Flatiron Building, New York

We came across this installation within the windows of the Flatiron building and while not the most seasonal installation we wanted to share something a little more generic for you on this day of celebration.  Wishing you all a very Happy Holidays (or Christmas) or just a day off depending where you are in the world.  We're just about to leave NYC for the Middle East to view their seasonal offering and will be showing what is happening right now in Dubai very soon (well tomorrow actually)

We're teetering on that time of year again and all will soon be over as quickly as it came, so here's some Christmas bling.  We don't often include this brand back in London but this blinding Golden nugget of a prop stopped us in our tacks along 5th Avenue the other evening so we were compelled to included it here for you to see too.
