La Rinascente Duomo, Milan

Images Courtesy and Copyright Arte Vetrina Project
Well that made you look didn't it?  We've seen David Beckham in his pants and now Justin Bieber is flashing his 'bits' at the fabulous La Rinascente Duomo in Milan.  Full-sized window vinyls fill this space, all illuminated with White neon strip lights to celebrate Calvin Klein's launch of this famous underwear as worn by the pop star himself and Lara Stone.  Biceps, six pack, tattoos, pecs and well you know what.  We have seen this scheme in London although across such large windows it does have quite a significant impact.

Harvey Nichols, Dubai

How fantastic are these windows...!  Here at Harvey Nichols, Dubai, the team have injected masses of humour into an otherwise very conservative environment and produced these amazing windows with their out sized figures.  What's not to love about this play with size and perspective.  Superb props and oozing such confidence that we wish we could see these windows more often.  Brilliant fun.

Galeries Lafayette, Dubai

We're working in the middle east for the next couple of weeks so we are going to be showing you some of the best of the current window schemes in Dubai right now.  Its incredibly hot here and fantastic to have such warm evenings but with air con just about everywhere we are scouring the malls to bring you some amazing schemes like demons on a mission.  Here at Galeries Lafayette out sized props of, appropriately enough Camels (well it is the desert) in pastel tones and the strap line 'Tomorrows Bright'.

Coach, London

We weren't entirely sure what this scheme was about although it does make sense when you see the movie on their website.  With the launch of their SS15 collection, A Journey Across America, while the car 'bits' seemed initially a little arbitrary, they have actually referenced to the sense of journey and travel in a rather more abstract way which leads us to that penny dropping moment.  Thankfully no Route 66 signs to be seen anywhere.

Etro, London

We imagine this installation is one which is product-led and based on their SS15 collection.  This also a really interesting move for this brand who had a window filling digital screen until recently (unless it is behind this one) and here the two dimensional print flows into the third dimension to produce something which is very sculptural.  Great use of colour too.

Patek Philippe, London

Besides being an exquisitely produced scheme there is another link here which is very exciting. From May 27th until June 7th the brand are presenting their Watch Art Exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery here in London celebrating their tradition of high precision watch making and offering an insight into their 175 year history. This is the last Genevan family owned company in existence so it will be a fantastic treat to find out what really does make them tick....;o)

Fendi, London

This is a rather stunning scheme at Fendi and a huge leap into references to Architecture, namely the Palazzo Della Civilta Italiana,  in Rome (or an icon of Fascist Architecture although that's not so sexy to know of course).  If you check out the SS15 catwalk show it all makes a lot of sense and great to see how the show has been translated into their window schemes.  All joined up very nicely.

Fenwick, London

Did you know that there at 2.8 million stitches in a pair of these?  The fun just gets better at this brand with their 'From Sheer to Eternity' strapline and rotating hosiery, grabbing the passing footfall and drawing us in. The personality of Fenwicks (which used to be like the Gobi desert, ya know dry and we could only wonder why anyone would want to go there)  but wow, they just keep getting better and better and it really is a pleasure to follow what they do and share these with you.

Liberty, London

We missed including the previous scheme here which looked superb but we are including this one before they change it again.  Great use of colour in these windows at Liberty right now which are showcasing their accessories on the ground floor.  So, take the afternoon off and pop in and grab ya'self a gorgeous little purchase.  The boss wont mind.

J Crew, London

[You] 'remember all that saving for rainy day stuff: its time' reads the strap line at J Crew right now.  This is possibly one of the better windows we've seen at this brand.  OK it probably wont feature in the best VM in the world book (if there was one) but the use of the repetition of closed White umbrella's (as opposed to ones which are open) at least provides an interesting context for their product (April showers an' all that).  The female mannequins look great, but why do they keep using those bust forms in their windows for menswear.  C'mon guys, they aren't doing the product any favours.

Canali, London

We have seen this type of scheme at brands such as Zegna previously although it is a great way of communicating to the customer that they create luxury clothing tailored to the customers needs.  Actually according to our sources around 250.000 individual pieces annually.  No easy task.  The various components of some of the details carefully thought through and produced by the brand we guess of represented here.

Banana Republic, London

Finally we have a bit of humour in a window.....relief..!  We adore the clever simplicity of this scheme at Banana Republic right now and such clever balance of colour, texture and line. If it wasn't deliberate it doesn't matter but look how your eye moves from the Yellow of the umbrella to the Redness of the mannequins skirt on the right of the image below and up to the strands above and then back to the Umbrella. Great composition here and great slogan.  We don't care what anyone else says, they do have a sense of fun after all.
