Fortnum and Mason, London

While so many retailers out there are looking like they are hanging on by a thread (and they may well be), thankfully this brand is bursting with creativity and deliciousness that we cant help but drool at this scheme.  We're big fans of the work this brand do anyway and their fabulous store is one to visit if you are not from London as it simply oozes quality (for a price, obvs.).  Their current offer is their Open Summer installation filled with wonderful foods which of course is synonymous with why they do but all so beautifully crafted.

Akris, London

On the odd occasion we do see some interesting window schemes at this brand although they don't invest a lot in generating narratives or anything else for that matter on a regular basis.  The minimal approach to their windows is what appears to be their strategy which of course, for us, leaves us very little to show you. So, here is their latest installation in all its glory.

Hackett, London

We're writing this as London melts on the hottest day in history but not in a good way.  London was never built to withstand this extreme temperature and this is clearly yet another warning that we need to be sustainable and perhaps a good time to reflect on what we as an industry can do to play our part.  In the meantime, as Sale continues out there, take a moment to think of all of the people who had to go to work today and implement the next load of schemes in impossibly hot windows.  We bow down to you.  This brand as always (and thankfully) continues to deliver great quality schemes and very topical with its nod to the tropical.

Menswear, Victoria & Albert Museum, London

Its rather scorching here in London at the moment so we're doing everything we can to keep cool in a city which was never built for the weather extremes we are experiencing.  With that in mind, there's no better place than here at the Victoria and Albert Museum (and its cool inside) for the menswear exhibition.  When we're in need of inspiration we always head here as the exhibitions are staggeringly good and well worth the time spent.  We cant include all of our images here therefore please do check out our Instagram too.

Lalique, London

It has been very many years since we looked at this store along Conduit Street here in the centre of London retail.  We have, of course, seen corn used in window schemes on several occasions previously.  Two examples which spring to mind are McQueen at their old store along Bond street and again in one of the stores in Milan at the Galleria Vittorio  Emanuelle although the name of it escapes us at the moment.  With all of the problems with Wheat production happening around the world this is probably just the ideal moment to use this as a prop as it soon will be a luxury item for sure too.

Hugo Boss, London

We don't often include this brand here as their schemes tend to be quite abstract or at least have no recognisable narrative.  As with most retailers out there at the moment, during this Sale period, they've chosen to keep their scheme but add the Sale Graphics to the physical windows although to be honest with you we're not entirely sure what the original scheme was about anyway.

Massimo Dutti, London

This is a new direction for this brand, don't you think?  Normally we find this brand use mannequins and gorgeous props (usually fabulous furniture) and all perfectly presented to the highest standards and here we have this slightly ghostly approach to their product presentation with supporting graphics perfectly photographed, naturally.  It looks so refreshing.

Moschino, London

This is quite a bizarre scheme at this brand right now, don't you think?  We're not big fans of the windows here although that said, they are one of the more visual ones out there and for that, we are thankful particularly given that there is so little else happening right now. That said we still have no idea what the scheme is about.  Thankfully also we are on the cusp of new windows being installed shortly so we will have a lot more to share with you soon from around town.

Roberto Cavalli, London

There's not really a lot we can say about this scheme apart from the fact they appear to be recycling the fixtures but changing the background colour and of course the merchandise.  We are slightly struggling with the recycling element in store windows as while we understand the need to be sustainable but we also want to see something fresh and new.  Perhaps they could have rotated this scheme later in the year or changed it more?

Hermes, London

We're spacing out our entries this week as new schemes are rather thin out there right now although thankfully luxury has come to the rescue as usual but not all stores have new schemes to share with you.  Sadly, it seems, that retailers are still dealing with the hangover from the pandemic and just about everyone has gone into Sale so there is very little to share from London.  This brand of course continues to deliver although we have no idea what this scheme is actually about.

Michael Kors, London

At the moment we're right in the middle of the Sale period which is very unfortunate as this means that there is very little for us to share with you and let's be honest, Sale windows are never sexy.  This brand however, rather than removing their scheme have simply added the Summer Sale onto the fenestration.  Wise move regarding costs although in an ideal world, an innovative Sale scheme would have been great.

Salvatore Ferragamo, London

We're getting quite Art Deco Vibe from this scheme at Salvatore Ferragamo, don't you think?  Ok, well not quite influenced by Ocean liners or cars although there are clearly some Architectural elements here.  Incidentally, while our images probably don't do this scheme justice, although we weren't particularly taken by it anyway, it did receive a lot of interest on our Insta account.

Loewe, London

We cant quite work this scheme out?  This is actually called Fringes (this is from the name at the bottom of the glass) however fringes appears to relate to their bucket bag although there are no bucket bags here.  Oh gawd its just all so confusing.  We'll just agree that it's something to do with Paula's Ibiza collection.
