Japan House, London

We've included here recently some quite interesting strategies which retailers have been using to encourage us back onto the high street.  These have ranged from collaborations with Artists to talks in store.  Another way in which retailers are enticing us include ones like this, exhibition spaces and installations.  Here at Japan House a whole floor is dedicated to this exhibition space which is really worth checking out if you can get to High Street Kensington.

Michael Kors, London

Our images don't really do this scheme justice unfortunately although they do look rather impressive.  We just need to mention the highly patterned flooring and how pattern has been applied onto the face of the mannequins here too (yeah we know it's not easy to see).  We have actually uploaded these images to our instagram account which you can zoom in on (link below).

Liberty, London

We don't normally see this kind of take over at this brand and certainly not the whole run of their windows (with the exception of one).   However, Loewe x Paula's Ibiza Pop-up fills the windows here at their Great Malborough street store, with of course a huge nod to the island and the pending holiday season.  We would have thought that this brand would be gearing up more for the jubilee celebrations this year here in the UK but we guess not.

Nespresso, London

It's not often that we capture brands such as this although we do have to mention how wonderfully creative this one is in particular.  What you cant see in a still image is that the central radiating form with the word Vertuo actually revolves but what you can see is that this fabulous structure is repeated across their window space.  Such an interesting and creative solution for a product which must be incredibly difficult to work with.

It's been really fascinating recently to follow the kinds of strategies which retailers have been implementing, not only to get back the shoppers to the high street but also of course make it look exciting and enticing again following all of the recent issues.  Brands like this probably have no such problems given their core clientele but great to see these collaborations as they really are not only a great way to introduce Artists to a new audience they although make everything so much more interesting.

Dior, London

We couldn't actually find any information about this scheme on the brands' website so we can only have a random guess at what this is all about.  We have of course seen books stacked like this in other retail spaces so its not quite ticking the wow box for us although it is of course beautifully produced.  We're guessing there is some literary link here but until we hunt down the illusive information we can only just guess.

Mount Street Printers, London

There's a little bit of a Memphis Group vibe happening at Mount street Printers right now with the the use of these gorgeous colours and shapes.  If you are not familiar with the Memphis Group, essentially they used a lot of Geometric shapes, flat colours and stylised graphic patterns (which are obviously not included here).  As always this store, and we think that they only have one, looks incredible and the investment in their visual merchandising is very much appreciated.

Chelsea In Bloom, London

This is a real treat for any flower lovers out there.  The Chelsea in Bloom installations are back again this year and even bigger and better than previous years.  There is of course an obvious Royal theme running through the installations but as its topical right now this is completely understandable.  If you do want to go and have a look at these magnificent structures then we recommend that you begin at Knightsbridge station, walk along Sloane street to Sloane square, wander around the Duke of Yorks square and then back behind Peter Jones.

Penhaligon's, London

Wow, how beautiful are these windows?  We happened to pass by a concession for this brand at Selfridges department store last week and they really do put a huge effort into their schemes as even their concession space looked amazing.  The store itself, here along Regent street is not huge but we bet these windows are a nightmare to work with.  The team however really do deliver as this scheme looks stunning.

If there's one brand we can count on to make a political statement, its this one.  In fact you would be very hard pushed to find any other brand that would make this kind of stand and we love that about them.  Most brands on the high street tend to play everything so safe and look boringly generic, attempting to capture anyone they can and draw them into their stores.  The great thing about what the guys do here is that they have not forgotten their roots.  Long live Viv.

We really do love how visual this brand are and the windows here always look so interesting.  Even though there is probably a huge corporate structure behind the brand, what we love is how different the windows are from store to store.  The handmade and probably sustainable aspect is obviously very important and each scheme feels like it is made with thought and love.

We've been dying to share this scheme with you for a few weeks now although our original images were quite poor so we've taken them all over again.  We also have the full run on our Instagram (link below for you) if you want to check them out.  Just look at these stunning windows in celebration of Her Maj. the Queen and her staggering Platinum Jubilee celebration.  Do go and check out this scheme for yourself if you can as the craft work here is amazing.

Jacquemus, London

We weren't particularly familiar with this brand however we've been discovering a lot more after visiting this fabulous installation.  The world famous Selfridges right in the heart of everything retail has transformed one corner of their store with this incredible installation by Jacquemus.  We cant include all of the images here but do check out our instagram through the link below.  We will be sharing not only this installation but the experiential elements at the back of the store at the old Selfridges Hotel too.  However, if you do have the opportunity then do go and experience this for yourself.
