VM and Display Awards 2019, London

As another year of VM and Display awards closes we reflect on the incredible schemes we have seen in the past 12 months and the wonderful contributions the teams above have made to the high street out there.  With well deserved awards going to the likes of Harvey Nichols, Topshop and Harlequin-Design as well as Nike, Seen Display and a whole list of brands the night hosted by the acidic and hilariously funny Tom Allen was one we didn't want to end.  Don't forget the VM and Display Show 28 - 29 April 2020 for your diary.

Fenwick, London

This brand have been the gift that just keeps on giving throughout 2019 and we really look forward to following them into and beyond 2020.  Giant props fill the windows at their store along Bond street right now making the mannequins as if they are miniatures by comparison.  A great seasonal scheme and a wonderful visual end to 2019.

Fendi, London

This brand are banging out their schemes right now as they seem to be changing them quite frequently.  It's not clear if this is their Christmas offer although we are guessing that as it is quite late in terms of launching a seasonal scheme that this will be the one which will take us up until the dreaded Sale period.  So, in the meantime enjoy.

Dior, London

The only problem with this scheme from the incredible Dior is knowing where to look when viewing their seasonal visual merchandising offer.  Sadly our images don't do it justice however we do have better images on our Instagram account which can of course be enlarged.  Link below this post for you.

Clarks, London

We're still slightly upset that this brand closed their fantastic flagship store along Regent street earlier this year as they were showcasing some incredible visual merchandising schemes which were never fully implemented across all of their stores.  The brand do however still have their Oxford street store and of course a big nod to the season with their amazing moulded shoe trees.

Burberry, London

Here we go, its that time of year again.  We turn our backs for just a few days away from the city that has everything (well nearly everything) and all of the windows have changed again with schemes blinging across the high street.  Burberry have opted for a slightly traditional scheme this year, although thankfully no Green trees and definitely no Silver birches, with the use of giant baubles filling their windows along Bond street right now.

Back side | Fashion From Behind, Paris

If you happen to be in Paris then there is one exhibition which you must go and see.  Back Side | Fashion from Behind addresses our body's relationship to clothing......and questions the perception we have of our own and other people's backs.  Situated at the Musee Bourdelle this is a must see exhibition and for just 10 Euro it really is worth it.

Lanvin, Paris

While we have a relatively small store for this brand back in London (along Saville Row) here in Paris there are actually two vary large stores on opposite sides of the street along the Rue St. honore.  Whenever we visit Paris we are slightly envious that the brand put so much energy into the windows here, usually with fabulous narratives.  Currently the brand are showcasing their AW19 collection, Mystic Pilgrims.

Michael Kors, Paris

We have seen some really exciting schemes from this brand and while this one is not the most amazing it is what is happening out there right now.  Back in London we anticipate that the brand will have a corker of a Christmas scheme which we will share with you shortly.

Missoni, Paris

How beautiful is the backdrop to Missoni's product.  The beautiful Blue crystal installation appears to be a slight nod to Roger Hiorns Seizure installation from 2008 which was in place within a council property in Elephant and Castle, South East London and eventually bagged him the uber prestigious Turner Prize.  The installation was eventually lifted (all 32 tonnes of it) and transported to the Yorkshire sculpture park.

Moschino, Paris

While this is not the most inspiring scheme from this brand (at this store at least) we did want to share it with you as this is what is happening right now out there.  The windows for this store are incredibly small and very awkward to use and squeezing in two mannequins in each probably wasn't the best choice.  However just inside the store is of course their out sized and neon lit Moschino handbag.

Moncler, Paris

Who could not adore this installation from Moncler here in Paris right now.  This is our favourite store for this brand as they always produce such amazing props here and are so very welcoming whenever we ask if we can capture their schemes to share with you.  Featuring giant sized bears and a wall covered in, what appears to be natural wool dyed in these beautiful shades, this is yet another killer scheme from this brand.

Moynat, Paris

Wasn't it Chanel that did their last catwalk show across a set which looked like the roof tops of Paris?  Here at Moynat we have a similar style installation, albeit in miniature of course.  We come across an interesting article about the development of this particular bag, the Moynat Rejane although for some reason we are no longer able to find it and share the highlights with you.  So, in the meantime just drool at the window of this brand and wish you owned one of these little beauties.
