Bergdorf Goodman, New York

We are in New York now for a while looking at the seasons offerings and naturally we begin with the staggering Bergdorf Goodman.  With their Destination Extraordinary scheme who could help but be overwhelmed by this spectacle?  The details in the windows here are as incredible as we have come to expect with the best of the best in props and narrative.  The interior of this former mansion is slightly dour by comparison however with wreaths, trees and props in Grey and while of course everything here is so beautifully produced we did leave the store feeling rather flat given that the windows raised the bar so high.   We have made a video of this scheme which you can view below or through our YouTube channel and enjoy the amazing talents of the guys here yourself.

Zara, London

This appears to be a slightly eerie and mysterious scheme at Zara although actually it sparkles quite magically at their Oxford Circus store which our stills just dont capture.  Beautiful figures, all superbly dressed and placed in both a pyramidal and repetition format on we guess are faux marble plinths makes this brand looks quite luxurious.  Considering that they are more mid-range, they continue to have their fingers on the pulse of every fashion and as usual their presentation is fearless.

Tory Burch, London

Christmas seems to be a time for brands around the world to dust off their Silver Birches from the warehouse out of town and parade them for our delectation.  At Tory Burch however there is a slight twist to these as they are actually embroidered (in fact canvas work - its a long story how we know this).  Ironically we guess here we have Burch's Birches?  Its a fairly simple scheme although there's a lot of work gone into that backdrop.

Valextra, London

This brand seem to becoming more and more visual which is a treat (or maybe we've just never seen them or noticed them before?) but anyway, their seasonal scheme is quite a treat with these abstract sweet/trophy-like forms which fill their windows and support the product.  We will be coming back here over 2017 to see how they develop their installations but if you happen to be along Mount street then do go and take a look.

Liberty, London

It was no easy task capturing this little gem of a scheme as the movement here is quite incredible and very mesmerizing.  Inspired by the Royal Ballet this scheme is the kind that would keep your children quiet as so much is happening from the spinning gentleman in a cloak, ballet shoes and legs and fans.  No easy task squeezing this little gem into these windows either but if you appreciate the Art of window display and want an semi-immersive experience then this one is for you.

Selfridges, London

Before we hit the stores of New York naturally we have to include the staggering Selfridges here in the centre of all things fashion.  The details in this enormous run of windows have to be seen and experienced to be believed however the underlying narrative is Father Christmas in a range of scenarios (in a nut shell).  Amazing fashions, styling and sensory overload it is no wonder that this store is as successful as it is.  Just go and see it for yourself if you can but if not here's snapshot of some of the windows for you in the meantime.

Oasis, London

There's a wonderful vintage feel and a hint of nostalgia about this scheme at Oasis and where better to see nostalgia than London, and goodness knows we do it so well.  Mannequins in masks hint to the party season and flora nodding to the seasons to come with a piano in perspective just oozes a kind of whiff of Downton Abbey...well sort of.... but nevertheless a seasonal scheme which is a tangent away from the norm and a refreshing change from this brand with award winning window schemes.

Ralph Lauren, London

If you happen to be looking for something glamorous to wear at your winter lodge then look no further.  As always, Ralph Lauren looks incredible at their Bond street store and it was no easy task to capture this scheme given that there are so many sparkling lights around at the moment reflecting on the windows.  Lifestyle appears to be key at this brand and we are very much looking forward to viewing their Mansion store in New York shortly which we will post some time next week.

In memory of Rob Patterson 1952 - 2016

With a Visual Merchandising industry so vast and so varied it is often easy to forget that behind the glazing of any fashion store, each amazing bust form or mannequin has been so lovingly and so creatively produced by an amazing Artist; this is a talent we can only ever wish to have.  Working with the retail industry for over 30 years the wonderful Rob Patterson sadly passed away last week; his legacy can be viewed the world over.   Having worked for some of the key industry suppliers such as Proportion>London, Hindsgual, Gemini, Eurodisplay as well as producing amazing commissions for London's iconic Victoria and Albert Museum, fashion designer Rick Owens and pieces for a number of collectors around the globe, Patterson's contribution to the industry will continue to live on, however today we have lost another one of our incredible talents.  Our thoughts are with his family and those who knew him well at this sad time.

Pull and Bear, London

Rocking the out sized illuminated 'Xmas' Pull and Bear have installed a relatively simple scheme here at their store along Oxford Street.  We have followed this brand throughout 2016 and have seen some great schemes over the year and this one even in its simplicity is very bold and does what it says on the 'tin'.

Aspinal, London

It has been freezing cold here in London recently so this is the perfect scheme to compliment the season.  A curtain of snow pearls and a snow drift support the product here with giant snow pearls onto which this luxurious product from the brands Dockery collection has been suspended; repetition of various sizes is the key here and an interesting surprise to see the work from the actress Michelle Dockery whom you may know better as Lady Mary Crawley from the fantastic Downton Abbey.  Another amazing scheme from the award wining team at www.millingtonassociates.com

Bally, London

This is one of the best schemes we have seen in 2016 at Bally.  In collaboration with www.millingtonassociates.com the brand have used their iconic Red Moon mountain logo in conjunction with perspective graphics from the Bally Museum in Shonenwerd (who knew this brand has a Museum?) which provided the inspiration behind this traffic stopping scheme.  A huge belated congratulations also to the team at www.millingtonassociates.com for their multiple awards at the VM & Display Awards event recently too.

Anthropologie, London

You cant beat a good old Anthropologie scheme and a celebration of the hand made.  Out sized snowflakes, faux frosting and fantastic products fill their Regent street store and a great example of sustainability in store windows too.  We will be sharing their New York stores visual in just a couple of weeks so watch this space.....
