Fenwick, London

Did you know that there at 2.8 million stitches in a pair of these?  The fun just gets better at this brand with their 'From Sheer to Eternity' strapline and rotating hosiery, grabbing the passing footfall and drawing us in. The personality of Fenwicks (which used to be like the Gobi desert, ya know dry and we could only wonder why anyone would want to go there)  but wow, they just keep getting better and better and it really is a pleasure to follow what they do and share these with you.

Liberty, London

We missed including the previous scheme here which looked superb but we are including this one before they change it again.  Great use of colour in these windows at Liberty right now which are showcasing their accessories on the ground floor.  So, take the afternoon off and pop in and grab ya'self a gorgeous little purchase.  The boss wont mind.

J Crew, London

[You] 'remember all that saving for rainy day stuff: its time' reads the strap line at J Crew right now.  This is possibly one of the better windows we've seen at this brand.  OK it probably wont feature in the best VM in the world book (if there was one) but the use of the repetition of closed White umbrella's (as opposed to ones which are open) at least provides an interesting context for their product (April showers an' all that).  The female mannequins look great, but why do they keep using those bust forms in their windows for menswear.  C'mon guys, they aren't doing the product any favours.

Canali, London

We have seen this type of scheme at brands such as Zegna previously although it is a great way of communicating to the customer that they create luxury clothing tailored to the customers needs.  Actually according to our sources around 250.000 individual pieces annually.  No easy task.  The various components of some of the details carefully thought through and produced by the brand we guess of represented here.

Banana Republic, London

Finally we have a bit of humour in a window.....relief..!  We adore the clever simplicity of this scheme at Banana Republic right now and such clever balance of colour, texture and line. If it wasn't deliberate it doesn't matter but look how your eye moves from the Yellow of the umbrella to the Redness of the mannequins skirt on the right of the image below and up to the strands above and then back to the Umbrella. Great composition here and great slogan.  We don't care what anyone else says, they do have a sense of fun after all.

Over several years, Proportion>London have developed a close working relationship with the Victoria and Albert Museum, London's conservators creating a whole variety of commissions with them.  In true unconventional style that McQueen is so famous for Proportion>London created the mannequins and bust forms using raw materials including papier mache and natural wood for this exhibition. Using precision manufacturing techniques each piece ensures that McQueen's creations hang flawlessly.  This superbly curated exhibition has already sold thousands of tickets and no doubt will be talked about for generations.  If you don't see it, you will regret it.

McQueen is looking very ghostly at the moment don't you think? (in the most beautiful and exquisite way of course).  Large distressed antique looking mirrored panels and distressed flooring form the backdrop to, well we could hardly call them products (although ultimately they are).  Perhaps works of art, fabulous design and craftsmanship that creates a benchmark which few other luxury brands ever reach is more appropriate.  The is also one of the only luxury brands which never look vulgar but continue to surprise us and bring you the readers flocking to these pages each time we include them.

Ralph Lauren, London

Alluding to those Summer holidays in exotic places Ralph Lauren looks particularly topical right now.  Their SS15 collection inspired by 'a cinematic safari adventure' looks very romantic set among what appears to be a slightly Islamic Bazaar (without the Islamic references although these places only exist in those countries don't they?).  If you want to be transported to somewhere else do go an check out the windows here, particularly at night time and close up as the drama of the space these guys have created is quite something.

Louis Vuitton, London

Capturing the Spirit of Travel, Louis Vuitton's scheme as always epitomises the best in Visual Merchandising and photography.  You should check out their website as the images will make you drool.  The promotion 'follows a dream-like safari through the African Savannah', the brand also, 'sets its trunks halfway between the sky and the beating Sun'.  OK enough of the PR descriptions of the collections, we adore the collage effect of the backdrop used here in conjunction with the window graphics on the fenestration.  An unusual move for this brand to use so many graphics although of course they are perfectly designed and produced as one would expect.

Aishti, Middle East

Collaboration is absolutely key right now so its was so great to view the latest scheme at Aishti in the Middle East, created between those clever guys at Sagmeister & Walsh, Arte Vetrina Project and the brand itself.  We've been seeing a vast amount of tropical foliage around London recently, particularly in the products being showcased in conjunction with their schemes so this one is absolutely on trend right now.  Given the season difference it is particularly interesting to see how in tune these guys are with the rest of the world.

Karl Lagerfeld, London

Possibly not the most exciting scheme in the world although it is one of great quality.  Cut-outs of mini-Karl form the backdrop of this semi-opened backed window and mannequins in a Black matt finish.  That's it really.  Its not going to change the world but just does what it does.

Moschino, London

Oh you know we're not fans of this brand, although they clearly target a certain market and obviously manage to shift this stuff so we guess we should give them some credit at least.  In fact we rather like this fun scheme with its out sized toy box filled with merchandise.  However, before you think we have defrosted, we are still not yet converts.  Here you go anyway.
