Museum of Pizza, New York

We visited here quite recently as part of our quest to find new 'things' happening out there and while this one in Brooklyn has now closed (although it may reappear elsewhere in the US) it is worth mentioning as immersive experiences appears to be the direction in which commercial spaces seem to be headed.  The Museum of Pizza while not the cheapest of places to visit did provide the visitor with a range of different spaces for these (clearly) all important selfie / insta moments which seem to flood social media.  Of course its all sponsored by a Pizza brand.

Gentle Monster, New York

This is a brand which we have looked at back in London although it is worth mentioning them here again as they are clearly moving towards a global market and increasing the numbers of stores.  As usual they have included these incredible installations with very minimal product (although interestingly we don't seem to see many people in their stores).

Louis Vuitton, New York

We happened to come across this LV pop-up space in the meatpacking district here in NYC although couldn't quite work out why it was different from their other stores at the time.  However it transpires that this is the Grace Coddington and Nicholas Ghesquiere collaboration called Cats Meow (or Catagram for short).  Only two others of these pop ups exist in the world so this was quite a find (the other two are in Beijing and London).

Melissa, New York

If you are feeling the need to have an experience when you buy your next pair of shoes then look no further than Galeria Melissa along Broadway.  Like moths to a flame, well, a big Red flashing video actually, we were drawn in to take a closer look at this store.  A short catwalk away from the product, this is perhaps not the least intimidating space to walk into however the team are friendly so there's no need to worry.  There is also of course the ever omnipresent insta moment within the commercial space so even for males there is something to do while you wait for a female companion to try on a multitude of footwear.

Dover St. Market, New York

No-one does luxury boutique like Dover st. Market and what an amazing find.  Although of course the original Dover st. Market is no longer actually on Dover St. back in London since their move the Haymarket site but what a massive influence they had on the area during their time there.  Never shy of being unconventional, interesting and avant garde, every product is desirable and the whole store looks incredible.  This one situated along Lexington Avenue is also one to be experienced if you have the chance; Well just looking is free, right?

Nike House of Innovation, New York

While we are not big sport fans ourselves we really do admire this brand and the amazing experiences that they provide.  Whether its one of their regular monolithic stores (if monolithic stores can be 'regular') or this one, Nike House of Innovation which is just staggering.  We seem to remember that this store is in the place of the old Joe Fresh site (whatever happened to them, eh?) situated along 5th Avenue and regardless of whether you are a sports fan or not this store really has to be experienced.  Several floors of merchandise, carefully curated (obvs) and it seems that anything can be personalised or customised if you like that kind of thing.  Naturally it is incredibly busy here even first thing in the morning and queues form quite quickly around the block.  So, get there early if you want to experience the Nike House of Innovation.

Gucci, New York

There aren't many stores where you can sit and watch a large screen in luxury cinema seats while sipping a glass of wine but here at Gucci you can do just that.   This brand is looking incredible and if you have the chance to visit their Wooster street store here in New York then you really must.  Not only is the merchandise amazing but the experience itself is quite something and the team here are so helpful that is really does help to generate a memorable immersive journey through this visually stimulating commercial environment.

D&G, New York

Through pure serendipity we came across this D&G store in SoHo here in NYC which we guess is one of their newest in town.  While we are not dedicated followers of this brand, what is quite amazing are the amount of differences across their stores as nearly all of them seem to have a different scheme.  Just look at this little beauty.  Filled to capacity with all things visual it really is quite mind blowing and we were fortunate to have a guided tour (well we think it was unless we were actually being escorted) across the various spaces over three floors; even the elevator has had the D&G treatment.  Thank you to the super friendly team here however who were very helpful in explaining the concept.

Claus Porto, New York

This brand was another delicious find on our travels around New York.  Claus Porto is a brand we had never come across previously and what an amazing store interior.  The products here range from colognes, soaps, cosmetics and so on and what is remarkable about this Portuguese brand is that it dates way back to 1887 so has a fantastic history behind it.  Check out the amazing packaging here also; we were very tempted to make a purchase based on the designs alone.
