V-Grass, Milan

Its always such a treat to find new brands that we've never seen or heard of before 'out there' around the world, so welcome to V-Grass in Milan.  Opening in the Fashion District of this incredible city the team at www.artevetrinaproject.it in conjunction with the textile Artist Caterina Crepax and creative director Mahalia Richards, the team have created this amazing installation which references  this Chinese brands' interest in Italian Silk and threads through the whole store with a tentative nod to 1950's post war austerity with these wire framed figures.  So great to see some interesting things happening around the world.

Schuh, London

We've seen this brand produce some really fun schemes recently and the latest one is not only dynamic but absolutely captures the spirit of the moment.  For their SS18 campaign the brand worked in conjunction with ROAR to create an integrated campaign for digital and traditional platforms, inspired by street markings, signs, textures and materials mixed with huge doses of colour contrasts, and graphic shapes.  As always these things are even better appreciated in a video and you can check out this campaign using the following link here: https://vimeo.com/259910461

Chanel, London

Rocking the plasti-que right now is the Chanel store along Bond street.  As we have the mighty LV Maison opposite its quite difficult not to capture the massively illuminated reflection in the windows at this former Nicole Farhi site (unless someone would like to come out in the snow and hold up a Black cloth for us?)  Sheets of suspended plastic fill the windows here in reference to their SS18 collection.

Burberry, London

Burberry is rocking the high street at the moment and just getting everything so damned right.  With the latest installation, a slight combination and a tentative nod to the work of Carl Andre's Equivalent VIII and Sarah Luca's  Nud Cycladic 6 with layers of coloured glass or perspex added for a splash of colour the brand are looking better than ever.  We hate that 90's corporate expression that the product has been hero'd (pass the sick bag) although we guess you know what we mean and amazing to see this brand once again reaching those dizzy fashion heights.  Keep bringing it on Burberry.

Fendi, London

We spotted this scheme at Fendi recently although so much of the road along Bond street here in the centre of it all is being dug up - who knows why - that it was difficult to reach.  However, while so many brands have very generic schemes that don't really say very much, here at Fendi (which doesn't say very much either but is more interesting) the brand have implemented this flora backdrop punctuated with convex mirrors in this repetition format.

Emilio Pucci, London

Its been ages since we included this brand and we cant quite recall actually capturing their London store previously.  With a huge nod to what currently feels like an elusive holiday season here in freezing cold and snowy blighty the brand have included a hint of a swimming pool and a lush green / graphic backdrop.

Tods, London

Following on from our recent post of Ralph Lauren, Tods is another brand giving a huge nod to the pending holiday season with their colourful surf boards and fabulous products in this repetition format.  On a side note and in sharp contradiction to the luxury products (which of course are not actually needed but simply desired) on this street there is usually a homeless person sleeping in the doorway of this store each night who we seem to startle each time we stop to look at the windows.  His presence there is quite a thought provoking contrast from what these brands stand for and the harsh reality of some people's lives.  Our comment is in no way connected to this brand, but we just thought we would mention it.

Ermenegildo Zegna, London

Apparently this is the third chapter of the brands "Defining Moments" campaign which is a "global multichannel initiative reflecting daily lifestyle, projected by Ermenegeldo Zegna and its creative director Alessandro Sartori".  We see a stack of TV's ourselves, but there you go.

Louis Vuitton, London

This was a tricky scheme to capture at this brands Maison store along Bond street as these amazing props are so brightly illuminated that our poor camera was struggling a bit to cope.  Still, as usual the brand have installed huge props with equally huge personalities and we guess this references some of the wonders of the world.  What is so impressive is that some of the props extend through the windows to the first floor (see image below).  Another huge statement from this brand.

Moschino, London

With their usual references to all things bright, Moschino of course with their outsized props which we so often see here have yet again linked in with popular motifs to bring us a welcomed bit of colour to the high street.  Its not our favourite brand in the world but we guess someone out there likes this kind of stuff.  We just wonder who though.

Ralph Lauren, London

Well its clearly the holiday season already then if RL have their summer holiday scheme already in place.  At their huge mansion store along Bond street the windows are a welcomed relief from the miserable weather we have here in London right now and great to get a glimpse of another place we will never actually experience.  Thats aspiration for you.

Dolce And Gabbana, London

We're not big fans of playing cards in windows as it usually screams that a brand have exhausted all idea avenues and they have no-where else to go with their concepts.  But then who are we to challenge the might of this brand, we guess?  Still, as always the concept has been beautifully produced although we're still not convinced (as with Silver birches for Christmas) that this will be a scheme that we will remember anytime soon.
